I opened my mouth to scream, but only a shriek escaped my mouth. This was because there was a hand over my mouth, I figured it was so I couldn't make any noise. My heart started to pound and the sound of my pulse thudded my ears, and I couldn’t hear anything else.
"Sh, it’s okay. It’s me," a familiar voice spoke.
"Kevin! I came here to find you." I said feeling relieved that it wasn’t a burglar.
"What? You did? I was coming to find you too," He whispered in a shocked tone. I was shocked too thinking that we had been thinking the same thing at the same time.
"Come on…" Kevin whispered tugging at my arm and led me to the guest room.
Once we were there he sat down on the bed and I looked around. The room looked pretty comfortable, it felt warm and cozy. I was thinking all these thoughts when Kevin interrupted them.
"Why were you coming here?"
"I…uh couldn’t sleep so I thought I’d better find you now that you are so near. When are you leaving?"
"I don’t know," He replied, tensely.
"What do you mean by that?" I asked worriedly as I sat down on the bed. Kevin rubbed his temple thoughtfully looking uneasy and I suddenly felt afraid. Maybe something terrible had happened to Rachel, I thought waiting for Kevin to answer, suddenly he spoke.
"Well I’ve decided I’ll stay with you guys for a while, Rachel’s going to stay with her parents in England."
"Oh," was all I could say. I was glad that Rachel was fine but I still suspected that something was wrong.
"Yeah and now that I’m here we can spend a lot of time together." He beamed at me.
"Yeah definitely I’ll show you all the good places in New York, it’s an awesome place," I replied getting excited.
"And I would love to see them, so I’ve heard you’ve finally learned how to drive a car," he winked at me.
"Yes I have, and I’ve got a car of my own too."
"Car…that reminds me remember couple of years back when I tried to teach you how to drive you and destroyed my car. I’ll have to get revenge."
He laughed, and I laughed to at the silly memory. I was 15 years old and had this extreme craze to learn how to drive a car. When Kevin had finally agreed to teach me, I had accidently run his car into a tree and since then he had never let me touch any of his cars. I had hurt myself and him badly in the accident so he always said that he wasn’t going to sit in a car which I drove. Coming out of the memory, I looked at him smiling and then replied.
"You have taken enough revenge for today Mr. Kevin!"
"Okay but there’s always tomorrow." He said sullenly.
"Ha ha, so you tell where you have been for the past few months?"
"I’ve been roaming around England shopping and stuff with Rachel."
"England! Wow! I’ve always wanted to visit England." I said excited, I had always wanted to really go there, explore and have fun.
"Yeah sure, I’ll take you sometime by the end of next month."
"You will?"
"Yeah I will and that reminds me I brought something for you." He smiled and then jumped of the bed walking over to his closet for the time being. He took out a bag, opened it and handed it to me. I looked at him questioningly; I hadn’t been expecting anything from him, I just wanted him here with us that was enough of a present.
