*Your pov.*

»Are you sure you want to do this?«, Jason asks me.

My eyes are fixed on the doorknob in front of me. I inhale a deep breath and nod.

»Yes«, I respond.

Only then I press my index finger on the doorbell. I turn my head to the side and look at Jason. He gives me an encouraging smile and my nervousness dissapears slowly.

»Y/n?«, I hear her voice say.

Instantly my gaze wanders to the open front door. I gulp down hard and try to keep calm.

»Hey, mom«, I greet her.

Without any furthermore she embraces me in a huge hug.  I hear her sob into my shoulder causing my eyes to tear up a little.

»Oh god, I thought we'd have lost you forever«, she whispers.

In that moment I feel guilty that I haven't told her about my current situation. I feel bad that I left her and my dad even though they didn't do anything wrong. They didn't tell me about my real parents but they only did that to protect me since my real parents are dead.

»You're my mom...I need you...and I love you«, I admit.

She stares at me happily and I watch a tear roll down her cheek. I didn't expect our encounter to be this emotional. I actually thought my parents would be mad at me but I thought wrong.

»Who is that?«, my mom wonders and looks over to Jason.

My eyes widen. I completely forgot that he is here.

»Uh..that's Jason«

»Oh right, he's the guy who was doing some kind of project with you for school«, she says and I nod nervously,»But why is he here?«

I tense when I hear her question. What should I tell her? Jason and I have to flee because his parents want to remove our memories? No way. I turn to Jason and before our eyes meet he takes my hand. Surprised I stare at him then at our interlocked fingers. After some seconds I understand his action and catch sight of my mom again.

»W-we are together«, I stutter shyly.

She gasps lightly and examines us. I hold in my breath and wait for her reaction. Meanwhile I feel Jason's soft hand touching mine. His grip is very gentle but strong at the same time. It's protective and caring.

»I told you he loves you, honey«, she replies and winks.

Within a moment my whole face flushes red. I hear Jason chuckle and wish the ground would open and swallow me up. Just the fact that he knows that I have talked with my mom about him is embarrassing but whatever.

»Can he sleepover?«, I ask hopefully.

»Sure but first you should come inside. I'll make you some hot chocolate«, my mom tells us and we enter the house still holding hands.

Only when we both kneel down to take off our shoes we stop. I walk in the living room and Jason follows me.

»Where is dad?«, I wonder curiously.

»He won't be home for a week because of work«, my mom explains.

I sit down on the comfortable sofa in the middle of the room and give Jason a sign to take a seat next to me. The kitchen is right beside the living room so we both watch my mom preparing our drinks. After a moment of silence my gaze turns to the glass door on the right of me. I stand up from the couch and make my way outside to the backyard. It's already pretty dark so I turn on the chain of lights which surround the whole garden. As soon as there's light the backyard literally turns into paradise. Everywhere I look there are blooming trees, flowers in all kinds of colors and some beautiful water fountains. Next to me I notice a big swing hammock.
