Part 30

*Your pov.*

Jason stared at me surprised when I told him about the meeting I arranged with Y/FN. Before I can open the front door for my best friend he grabs my arm and stops me. 

»You should know something before you talk to Y/FN«, Jason says and I look at him curiously,»My mom once told me that your parents worked in the same company as mine.«

»You mean like my real parents?«, I wonder and he nods.

Big-eyed I let that information sink in my mind. The thought of Jason's parents working with mine makes me feel uncomfortable. His mom is a murderer. I don't even know how my mom and dad died. Maybe they got killed because they were making tests on humans as well. 

»Y/n, your parents were good people«, Jason explains as if he heard my thoughts,»I feel it.«

My eyes meet his and I smile lightly. Then I continue to walk towards the front door.

»Hey!«, Y/FN greets me when I let her enter the huge house.

Instantly she embraces me in a big hug as if we didn't see each other in forever.

»How are you?«

»I'm good. Why did you bring me here? Is this your new house?«, she wonders while examining the residence.

»No, actually it's my mansion«, I hear Kail reply.

He steps closer to us and Y/FN checks him out. In her eyes you could see some tiny teardrops. It's as if she already knows Kail. Y/FN notices my gaze fixed on her causing her to look around the house again. 

»Nice«, she responds while walking up to the living room,»Can I expect any more special guests?«

»Yes«, Jason says.

I look at him for a short moment before I turn to face my so-called best friend. All three of us surround her and she seems intimidated. 

»What's going on?«

»We need some information«, Kail blurts out.

»First you should take a seat«, I tell her and she sits down on the couch behind her.

Y/FN crosses her legs and stares at us eagerly. I feel my palms begin to sweat. Why am I so nervous?, I ask myself. Suddenly Jason takes hold of her hands roughly. I gasp quietly of surprise.

»What do you know?«, he asks her.

Their faces are only centimeters away from each other. Quickly I add another sentence.

»What Jason wants to say is that we know that you're hiding something from us« 

»I don't«, she replies looking at us with a straight face.

Jason stands up and lets go off her wrists. Y/FN sighs relieved.

»We think that someone injected us serums and from what I know you once worked for my parents. They are producing the serums«, he explains causing her to gulp down hard.

She knows something, I think to myself. Nervously she looks away from us but Jason catches hold of her chin forcing her to face us again. 

»Don't play games with us! Tell us what you know«

»I can't!«, Y/FN shouts.

Astonished I examine her. Something is bothering her. I can see it on her face. Gently I push Jason away and let myself sit beside Y/FN. Then I take her hand in mine. She looks at me puzzled and I give her a small smile.

»Do you remember our promise?«, I wonder making her laugh shortly,»We promised to tell each other everything even after we wouldn't see each other for a long time.«

»I know but this time it's different«, she says and stands up.

She stares at the boys and tries to leave but they wouldn't let her.

»Is it because of my parents? Why don't you just tell us?«

»Because if I'd tell you what I know your whole life would change«, Y/FN responds.

Silence fills the room. I take a look at Jason and he seems to think about what my best friend just said. 

»Then it's even more important that we know-«

»No! You'd be in danger. Everyone of you«, she says worried.

Her gaze travels to Kail and I see the tears in her eyes again. Jason faces me but I don't know what to say. It's all too much. What could be that dangerous?, I wonder. I never did something bad. I never was in danger. 

»I'm sorry«, Y/FN whispers while looking at me.

Then she walks out of the door and leaves. I let out a deep breath. Kail runs his fingers through his hair and takes a seat on his sofa.

»I shouldn't have let her go! She knows something«

»Calm down, Jase! We will get our information«,Kail tells him. 

Suddenly I hear a phone ring. Jason grabs his mobile from his jeans pocket and groans lightly. 

»What do you want, Lana?«, he answers the call.

It's his older sister. I think back to the first time I met her. She wasn't really happy to see me. Back then I was at Jason's house to recover from the night I got kidnapped. I still remember it as if it was yesterday. She thought I was one of them girls Jason would have a one night stand with. I still can't believe that he never had a real  relationship. He seems to be very cute but maybe I'm getting blinded by his charm. I should better watch out...I guess.

»Alright, I'll be right there...yes...bye«, Jason says and ends the call.

»What was that about?«

»I have to go shopping with my sister. She needs some stuff and she wants me to choose. Whatever, Kail you can call the gang and try to find out as much as you can«, he replies and his friend nods,»Y/n do you want to come with me?«

I need to think about it for a second while Kail leaves the living room.

»I'd like to. But I have to sort things out with my family now«, I explain causing him to nod understanding.

Then I watch Jason walk away as all of a sudden he turns around to look at me.

»About last night-«, he starts to say but before he can continue I press my lips on his.

»We can talk about us later«, I tell him.

Jason blushes slightly, gives me a peck on the cheek and leaves.
