"So, um, babe, something I need to tell you." I started, hesitantly.

"Yeah? What's up?" She asked, eating a bite of her pancakes as we had breakfast together this morning.

I opened my mouth. Shut it again. "So, um, my parents are coming to visit."

She raised an eyebrow. "When?"

"This weekend," I blurted out quickly.

Stef started coughing, nearly choking. "When- how did- umm. Sorry, just, when did you find out?"

"Last night, mom called me and let me know. In my defense, I was trying to say something but then-"

She chuckled. "Then I sexed you up and made you speechless. Uh, sorry about that."

I smiled softly. "Never apologize for that, honey."

"Ok, so, this weekend. That's for reals, right? They've confirmed it? Are they staying here? Do you need me to go grocery shop-"

I chuckled at her nervousness. "Honey, relax. It'll be fine."

"I don't know, will it? I suck at meeting parents, Lena. My relationships always end after I've met the parents because I just suck at it and hell, the reason everything's working so well between us is probably because I haven't met your parents yet-"

I grabbed her hands and gentled her. "Stop, okay? You're good, it's good. They're going to love you. Because I love you."

Stef huffed. "I wish it was that simple."

"Sharon loved me because you love me. The logistics is the same."

"Except it isn't. My mom loved you because you're great at meeting people, you're polite and know just when to make a joke and you're kind to everyone... Mom saw all that. You're just- so easy to like. And love."

I kissed her hand then pressed my lips against hers. "You're all of those things. Trust me, my parents are fine. Mostly my dad, Mom can be a little irritating, but you'll nail it."

"Ok. You got this, Stef. She likes you, she's not leaving you." I heard her whisper nervously to herself much to my amusent.

I grinned. "She *loves* you."

"And we are living together. It's kind of a big deal, I mean, even if I screw up I'll have a second chance, right?"

"You won't screw up and you'll have seconds and third chances. Cool it, baby."

She nodded somewhat reassuringly.

"Ok. What are they like?"

"Well, mom's a bit uh... protective of me. She can be a little irratating but deep down she means well. I think you'll grow on her."

"Oh God."

"Relax. Dad's completely chill. He'll definitely like you, he's funny like you and appreaciates it when others laugh at his jokes and stuff. I think you'll get on pretty well."

"So your mother's the real challenge here, right?" She bit her bottom lip in a sexy way without meaning to.

I leaned in and kissed her softly. "I don't wanna talk about this now. It'll be fine, baby."

Stef sighed and dropped the subject.

"Sorry. I get anxious... Oh, Melissa wanted me to go out with her to the Laurel some time. Be her wingwoman or something like that."

Melissa, her friend that interrupted our date a few days ago? Mhm..

"Okay... When are you going?"

"I thought maybe you should come and invite Jenna, Kelly, and we could go as a big group. And try to help Melissa." Stef suggested.

"That's fine with me. I'll talk to the girls and maybe we can figure something out. Why'd she come to you?"

"Well, she's lonely at work and went through this terrible break-up. I guess we've been bonding a bit more, nothing much." She answered.

"Ok. We'll make it work." I smiled.

She put her hands on my cheekbones and kissed me softly on the lips. "You are my favorite person ever. Thank you."

I smiled into the kiss and pulled away after a while. "I have to get ready to work."

She sighed. "The one morning I have off, you have to work extremely early. I'm pretty sure that's unconstitutional."

I grinned. "Sorry, babe."

I made my way to our bedroom, getting ready for work, thinking about how chaotic things might get with my mom. Especially since I hadn't told her or dad about my current living situation. Not only did I move, I also now lived with a woman they knew very little about.

AN: so... how do you think Dana will react to all this? 🤔 thanks so much for reading, giving feedback and voting!
