Stef's POV
"What do you mean our flight's been cancelled? We have a wedding to get to. Our wedding, as a matter of fact. How the fuck are we-" I asked one of the airline company employees after I heard the news about our flight to Hawaii.
"Stef- I'm sorry, excuse my fiancé, she's not feeling well-" Lena interrupted me.
I huffed. "Feeling well? I'm supposed to be marrying you this time tomorrow. And I'm here stuck in this shitty airport for fuck's sake."
"Stefanie Foster. If you wanna marry me any day, you need to pull yourself together right now." Lena said in a firm tone of voice.
I wanted to cry. Lena and I had finally decided to elope and now this happened. We hadn't called anybody from our family; we just left. I asked for some time off that was much needed as Lena did too.
"You can't tell me you're ok with this. We've just bought the tickets and packed our bags and now we can't fly. Or are you regretting this decision?" I questioned. Was she?!
Lena laughed. "Jeez. I'm not, you crazy lady. I can't wait to be your wifey. But if our flight's been cancelled, there's a reason for it."
"That we shouldn't get married?"
Lena stared at me. "Now you're scaring me. I'm just saying, maybe we should get married elsewhere or just wait a little longer - and by that I mean one or two days more."
I sighed. "You're right. Should we get tickets to another place?"
Lena shook her head. "I don't think we should."
"Fuck. I have no idea what you're talking about, Lena," I said, sitting in one of the airport chairs, completely desperate and frustrated.
Lena shook her head at me. "Stop being such a baby."
"Excuse me?" I asked, taking offense.
Lena kissed my lips soft and hard at the same time. "I love you, you big idiot."
I laughed, as confused as I was by her reaction. "What is this about?"
Lena sighed. "Sefanie Foster, we are getting married. We are eloping. Together. And I don't care that the plane is late or even if it's not coming at all, I really don't. Because I wanna be here with you. Anywhere actually."
"Yeah? So you're actually seeing a good side to all of this?" I raised an eyebrow.
She nodded. "I only see good sides in this situation."
"Enlighten me, please, because I really can't see the silver lining and you're so good at showing it to me."
Lena smirked. "For starters, we're alone together. We've turned our phones off. We're totally off the grid. And you wanna know what else?"
"Yeah?"
"I wanna go to Hawaii. And if that's tomorrow, tomorrow it is. Besides..." she said mysteriously. "I'm pretty positive we get a hotel room all paid for."
I laughed. "Now we're talking," I kissed her neck softly, biting on it agently.
"Yeah? Well, aren't you a naughty woman," she pulled back from me and winked.
I grabbed her by the waist and whispered in her ear "you can't wink at me like that and get away with it."
I felt her shiver under my touch and my breath, so I nipped on her earlobe and let her go as fast as I grabbed her.
"Let's get that hotel room then, shall we?" Lena asked, holding my hand and dragging me along with her to ask the airline employees how we claimed our rights.
I nodded and followed her lead, trying my best not to make a scene. As we got our hotel room all sorted out, we went inside and dropped our bags there.
"Huh, this is not too bad of a room, I guess..." I pointed out.
Lena went inside the bathroom as I took my jacket off and got comfortable on the bed. "They have a bathtub, at least," she said.
I smiled at the thought of the both of us naked in there. I couldn't dream of anything better than that right then. "Yeah? Is it big enough for the both of us?"
Lena saw me on the bed, without my jacket, my sleevless shirt showing all the tattoos I had on my arms whilst asking Lena the size of the bathtub. "I'm sure we can make do."
"Yeah?" I asked, sitting up on the bed and looking at her.
Lena laughed. "We've never had problems with that before."
"With what?" I asked, feigning innocence, because I obviously knew what she was talking about.
"Space. You know." She said, sitting on the bed right in front of me.
I raised an eyebrow. "I'm afraid I don't. Would you care to enlighten me?"
She laughed, that gorgeous and charming laugh. "Aren't you a saint?"
I nodded. "I am, actually. Are you implying otherwise?"
Lena grinned at me and grabbed me by my neck, kissing my lips roughly, leaving me breathless.
And just like that, she changed my whole mood.
