Just like he said, he took care of the gown problem. His stylist team arrived at my house on time. They were nothing but nice to me as they all tried to find the right gown for me. I wave them goodbye, as I'm spraying perfume.

Tom messaged me saying he was going to be getting here soon. I look at myself in the mirror, and I don't recognize the girl that is staring back at me. Never in my life have I gotten this dressed, or even wore designer clothing. I have designer purses, but no dresses.

The doorbell goes off, and I quickly make my way downstairs. My stomach feels likes it's doing flips, and whatnot as I reach for the door. Is this what I'm supposed to be feeling?

"Hi." I smile widely as I open the door. Tom stands before me dressed impeccably. His hair is perfectly done. His eyes look like they're about to pop out of their sockets.

"Tom?" I wave my hand in front of his face.

"Har- uh wow. Harper. You look. I mean wow." His mouth is hanging open, and I blush.

"Should we get going?" I ask as he stands practically frozen.

"You look beyond beautiful." He blushes, ignoring my question.

"Well thank you Tom. You look very handsome." I smile.

"We should. We should go." He points to the SUV in my driveway.

The whole ride to the gala, consisted of him telling me what it is about. He went on and on about how they raise money every year to help underprivileged kids in third world countries. The passion in voice as he talks about it, has me so intrigued. The way he speaks about it, and stands by it is something that I would've never guessed from him.

The SUV pulls up to the carpet, and my hands begin to get sweaty. I've never been around cameras, hell I've never been around this many people that are rich. This isn't my scene. My scene is being in hospital surrounded around my colleagues. Not rubbing elbows with people that can practically buy whatever their heart desires.

Tom turns to look at me, and I can tell he senses my nervousness. He takes a hold of my hand, and brings it up to his lips.

"It's going to be ok, love." he smiles as he places a kiss on the back of my hand. "Do you trust me?" he adds.

"You've never given my a reason not to." I flash him a small smile.

"It's time." he opens the door, and steps out first. He then reaches his hand out for me, and helps me out of the car.

Cameras begin to flash even brighter as he turns around and faces them. Everyone is shouting his name. His agent comes to his side, and begins to tell him that he has to do a couple of interviews before we head inside.

"Do you mind if we take pictures together?" he asks.

"Uh no?" I don't know if I should. With my past, pictures of me getting out is not good for me.

"If you don't want to it's fine." the look on his face says another thing.

"No it's ok. I'll take pictures." I smile reassuringly at him.

After his interviews we are taken to where hundreds of cameras are flashing. We are placed at one star, and the paps call out Tom's name.

"Tom to your right!"

"Tom to your left!"

"Tom to the center!" is all I hear, and he smiles widely at them all. I try my best not to look out place, and smile along with Tom.
