''Rachel! Get ready!'' her friend, Carmen told her.

''Coming!'' Rachel screamed, running over to get ready.

''There was a cute boy asking for you.'' Carmen winked as Rachel got ready.

''Yeah? Who was it?''

''He said his name was Harry. Do you know him?''

''No. What did he look like?''

''Curly hair, green eyes... Gorgeous.'' Carmen sighed.

''Oh c'mon, he can't be that good looking.''

''He is! Oh my god, he's coming over right now!'' Carmen squealed.

Rachel watched as a boy her age, maybe older walked up to them. Carmen was right, he was gorgeous.

''Hey.'' he said.

Rachel had to swallow twice before answering. ''Hi.'' she managed to get out.

''I'm Harry... I just wanted to wish you luck.'' he smiled at her.

''Er... Thanks!'' Rachel smiled brightly.

''I know you don't know me but... Well, we're in the same class and...'' he got cut off by hearing a horn go off. (A/N: I have no idea how a regatta works, so yeah, bear with me and if I get anything wrong, tell me xD).

''I need to get in my boat... I'll catch you later, okay?''

Harry nodded. Rachel climbed into her boat and then the race started.

When the race neared the end, Rachel glanced up and saw Carmen and Harry urging her on. She smiled to herself and pushed harder, overtaking the leader and ending up in first place.

''You won!'' Carmen screamed and hugged her.

''I know!'' Rachel laughed, as she climbed out of the boat.

''Well done,'' Harry smiled. ''Congratulations.'' he patted her awkwardly on the shoulder.

Rachel found herself hugging him, surprising herself.

''What were you saying before?''

''Oh, I er... I like you. I have done since I sat behind you in class.'' Harry replied in a rush.

''Really? Well, it's a good job I like you back!'' Rachel grinned.

''You do?!'' Harry breathed.

''Yes, I do. Now let me go get my prize.''

She ran off and collected her prize. Then she went back to the others and Harry planted a kiss on her lips.

''You're a star!'' he winked.

And at that moment, she really did feel like it.
