Annalise and Niall: Town Fair.

Annalise quickly jumped onto the carousel and held on.

Beside her, was a cute blonde boy. Her friends had dared her to climb on next to him and start talking to him. So she did.

''Hey, I'm Annalise.'' she started, swallowing.

The boy's head turned and smiled at her, ''I'm Niall. Nice to meet you.'' he said.

''Likewise.'' Okay, awkward.

''Isn't a carousel for little kids?'' Niall teased.

''Ah, well that makes two of us.'' she winked.

Niall laughed and nodded.

''I guess I asked for that one.''

''A bit. So, do you like the fair?''

''Yeah, it's the first one I've been to since I was eight. Do you?''

''Of course, it's my town.''

''Really? Hey, I'm new around here, maybe you can show me around some time?''

''Sure, I'd love to.'' Annalise shook out her blonde hair and smiled at him.

''You have lovely eyes.'' Niall said suddenly.

Annalise blinked her grey eyes and said, ''Thank you. Yours are pretty cool too.''

''You're welcome,'' he laughed. ''And thanks. How old are you?''

''I'm sixteen, you?''

''Guess.'' he winked.

''Eighteen?''

''Nearly nineteen. I think!'' he started messing about.

''You don't even know how old you are!'' she spluttered with laughter.

''Ah, that always makes someone laugh.'' Niall grinned.

''It should do, too.'' she managed to stop herself enough to smile at him.

Then the carousel stopped and they both climbed off.

''So when can you show me around?'' Niall asked.

''Tomorrow. I'll meet you here at eleven, okay?''

''Okay. Bye, Annalise!'' he waved and started walking away.

''Bye Niall!'' she shouted after him.

Then she sighed happily. She was grateful to her friends for giving her that dare.

Very grateful indeed.
