Rebecca and Louis: Carrots!

Rebecca checked the shopping list again. All she needed now was carrots and apples. She picked up her shopping basket and lugged it to the vegetable aisle.

'It's the last bag!' she thought as she saw it. She quickly went over to grab it. Then another hand reached it just as she did. They picked it up and glared at each other.

''I got here first!''

''No you didn't, I did!'' she exclaimed.

''I was over there with Niall and then I came over here to get it!'' the boy said.

''I was over there shopping!'' she replied.

There was silence.

''I'll let you have it, as you're such a pretty girl.'' they boy said, grinning.

''Okay, thank you.'' she replied, smiling.

''But. You have to come out on a date with me, Louis Tomlinson!'' he said, triumphantly. Rebecca laughed.

''Pleased to meet you Louis.'' she said.

''And what's your name?''

''Rebecca. I'm Rebecca.''

''A very nice name, too.''

''Thanks.'' she said, blushing.

''Louis? What's taking you so long?'' an Irish accent asked.

''I was just fighting over the las bag of carrots.'' he said, grinning. Niall looked at Rebecca and smiled.

''Ooh, fighting were we?''

''Not really.'' Louis said.

''I'd better get on. My mum wanted shopping done quickly because she's going out later.'' Rebecca said, picking up her shopping basket.

''Okay. Do you want help with that?'' Louis nodded at the basket she was carrying.

''Erm, yes please.'' she said and Louis took it off her and carried it to the checkout.

''Thanks Louis.''

''You're very welcome Rebecca.'' he replied. She smiled and paid for the shopping.

''Here.'' Louis handed her receipt.

''Oh, thanks.'' she looked down at it. Louis' number was written below the carrot bag. She laughed and waved at Louis.

''Call me!'' he called as she opened the door.

''Okay!'' she said back, smiling.

She walked back home and entered the kitchen with a smile on her face.

''What's got you so happy?'' her mum asked as she put the food away.

''Nothing. I met a boy.''

''Oh yes? When?''

''When I was shopping.''

''How?'' her mum asked her.

Rebecca giggled. ''With the help of carrots!''
