A/N: This is an AU. I got the idea from visiting my brothers apartment.

Summary: Joe and Caspar live in the same apartment building, in the same hallway, across from each other. They're acquaintances. They only see each other occasionally. Both of them like each other. Both of them look through their peepholes to see the other's door, wondering if they're looking to.

Warnings: This was a stupid idea for a one shot. Horrible all the way around. Please, don't read.

Caspar's POV

I've only been living in this apartment for six months, and I've already developed a crush. I currently have a crush on my neighbor, Joe Sugg. We live across from each other. I wouldn't say we're friends, more like acquaintances. The only time we've really spoken to each other is when we both moved in. Even then it was just a short conversation:

"Hello, my name's Caspar, Caspar Lee."

"Hello Caspar, I'm Joe, Joe Sugg."

"Nice to meet you, Joe. What brings you here?"

"Nothing really, just wanted to get out of my house and start living my own life. How about you?"

"Oh, well my parents wanted me out of the house, and they saw that this apartment had an open room, and voila!"

"Oh, that's nice. Well, I've got to start packing. See you around Caspar!"

"Yep! See you too Joe!"

It wasn't very long, but it was a friendly one. We did see each other after that, but only when we happened to both be leaving or coming to our rooms at the same time. Occasionally we'd see each other elsewhere, but not much. I wish we hung out like proper friends, though.

But, I have come to the terms that that will never happen. I just end up chickening out, hiding behind the peephole on my door, looking across to Joe's, wondering if he's looking too. I know that's stupid to think, but I do wonder.

*knock knock*

Joe's POV

So I have now been living in this apartment for an entire six months! I am happy to have my own living space, but I miss my family. Although lately I haven't been missing them as much. I told myself that was because I'm getting used to being without them.

The truth is that my cute neighbor makes the whole thing bearable. We don't talk to each other. The only time we've ever had a proper conversation was the first time that we both moved here. I wish we were friends, though. Even more than friends would be ideal, but that's never going to happen.

Actually, it could, if I just worked out the nerve to go over there and talk to him. But for now I am hidden behind some wood and a peephole. I just like to stare over at Caspar's door through the peephole, hoping that he is staring right back.

It's stupid, I know, but I can't help it. I like to imagine he is. What if he was? Then we'd both be staring at each other without even knowing it!

One day I finally got tired of looking through the peephole and hoping. After thirty minutes of internally battling myself, I opened my door and literally marched on over there. I brought my hand up and knocked on the door.

The door opened surprisingly fast and on the other side was Caspar.

"Hey Joe, do you need anything?" Caspar asked.

"Yeah. I've been staring at you through my peephole for the longest time because I have a crush on you, and I just want to know, were you staring back?" I asked, biting my lip.

"Actually, yeah. I've been staring, wondering if you were staring back at me," Caspar answered.

I smiled, "Good. So Caspar, since we have been unknowingly staring at each other, do you want to be proper friends?" I stuck my hand out for him to shake.

Caspar started beaming, "I would love to Joe!" and he shook my hand.

That was the beginning.

A/N: I am not at all proud of this. This is quite possibly the worst one that I have written. I seriously hope the other one shots aren't this bad. I guess you can say that I didn't really know what to write, so I'm just going to say this is a filler.
