A/N: I have seen a bunch of one shots or stories written with a plot line like this and I thought that I would give this a whirl! It's going to be another high school AU.

Summary: Caspar is the school's pastel flower boy. Joe is the school's punk maniac. (He's not a maniac, I just thought it sounded cool) Paired up for a science project, unknown chemistry happens between them.

Warnings: Uh, I don't know what makes someone "punk," so I'd like to say that I am going off of stereotypes and do not mean to offend anyone.

Joe's POV

Walking down the hallway all the heads turn towards me. I mentally rolled my eyes at them. I don't get why they do that. I've been going to this school for three years, wear the same thing everyday, and still everyone stares at me as if I'm an alien. They stare in awe, fear, and curiosity.

I'm not the only one who makes heads turn, though. There is one other boy. His name is Caspar Lee.

Caspar is always wearing pastel colors and always wearing a flower crown to match. People stare at Caspar as if he were a god. With respect, awe, and love. He's popular all around the school, but it's like he doesn't even know, stuck in his bubble with his friends.

"What're you thinking about?" Oli asked me. Oli wasn't what people called a punk. He wore "normal" clothing. Whatever normal even means. Nothing is truly normal, because what's considered normal could be considered weird tomorrow. Normal is just what's mainstream right now.

"Nothing," I replied.

"I know that's not true," Oli said.

"I was wondering why you hang out with me. I just give you a bad reputation. According the school, I'm forcing you to be my friend and that you're my personal slave," I said bitterly.

"Is that really what you're worrying about mate? Don't let those people get to your head. You and I know perfectly know that I am friends with you because I want to. The slave part though..." Oli dragged.

"Haha, very funny," I rolled my eyes at him. "Oh look, there goes Mr. Perfect," I grumbled.

Oli turned his head right when Caspar walked past us. People literally stopped what they were doing to stare at him. Heck, they even made room for him to walk through. It's like he was Moses and they were the Red Sea.

"Why does he get treated like royalty and me like a scumbag? I'm not a horrible person, I'm just misjudged. I don't do drugs, I'm not failing any classes, I don't bully anyone or listen to 'punk' music," I rambled, rather angry. I was angry that people put a label on me without even knowing me.

"That's because people base other people on stereotypes. It's horrible but that's just life, bud. Oh, the bells going to ring soon!" And sure enough, right after Oli said that the bell rang.

"Ugh, I don't want to go to science," I complained.

"Well you have to! Besides, I'm in that class with you," Oli smiled.

"Oh yes, makes it all the bit better," I sarcastically said, joking.

We got there in plenty of time and sat down at the back right corner of the room. This is one of the few classes Oli and I have together, so we always chose the corner so we could talk.

"Okay class, today we are going to further learn about our magnet unit!" Mrs. Cobbler exclaimed. Groans were emitted throughout the classroom.

Mrs. Cobbler frowned. "Don't be like that. I have a fun assignment for you! I've paired you guys up with partners to do a magnet poster complete with a 3-D structure on how magnets work!"
