Annelise came down the stairs just as Anna stormed up. She looked back in confusion, "What's wrong with Anna?"
"She uh-" i started, "um she -"
"She's mad that i yelled at her" Daniel explained
"Well why did you yell at her?"
"Because she was hanging out with someone who I believe was a bad influence"
"So you tried to protect her?"
"Kinda"
"Not the smartest move if she doesn't want to seem like a damsel in distress, but you were looking out for her" Annelise summed up
"Thank you! That's what I was trying to do"
"Best thing you can do now tho, is let her cool down. She'll come to her senses sooner or later"
"Alright, I'll go check on her in 10 minutes"
"No let me check on her. You just... i don't know, do what you wanna do"
"I wanna check on her"
"She might not want you to check on her. Let me check on her"
Daniel nodded, walked away and sat on the couch. I turned towards Annelise.
"So, back so soon? No late night dates?"
"No actually he, um he didn't show up"
"What? How could he do that?" I didn't want to send any signs showing that I knew about his absence
"I don't know but he was probably busy or he forgot. No big deal"
I wanted to tell her that he was there with Anna and that he stood her up to be with someone else , but i couldn't find it in me. She deserves better then him. She shouldn't be wasting her time on a player like him.

[Annelise's P.O.V]
"No big deal?!" Jonah asked, his facial expression harden. "He was a no show and you still think it's no big deal?"
"Jonah, it's fine. Let it go"
I got a text from Nicholas, 'hey I'm sorry i wasn't there, I had something important to do before but if it's ok with you, can I meet you at the beach?'
I looked up at Jonah, "How do you feel about going to the beach?"
