"No...no...no your-you're lying!"
"She's not" my 'mother' looked down, suddenly interested in her shoes.
"So do you still love me?"
"Of course I do, you're still my daughter"
"Then why are you leaving me here with these men?"
"I.... I'm sorry I don't have an excuse. You just came to my mind when they said Amanda was kidnapped. I thought maybe I could exchange you for her. But now that I'm thinking about it, I sound like a monster" she sobbed
"That's cuz you are one"
"Anneliese don't say that" Amanda said
"Shut up Amanda"
I looked at the men again, "take me away, I don't wanna see them again"
"Anneliese wait, it's not like that! I do love you!"
"But not as much as you love Amanda right?..... that's what I thought"
The men brought me back in the shop. A blinding light flashed in my face, when I moved out of the light I saw where I was. I was in a casino? What am i doing in a five star casino?
"Listen here, doll. We know you got it rough, so just pay off your sister's fee and you're free to go"
"Fee? What fee?"
"You're sister was an addicted gambler. And she owes us big time"
"How..how much?"
"$189,000"
"$189,000?! But Amanda has never gambled in her life"
"That's a lie, she's a regular"
"Wha.... how? She's only 17 years old!"
"She probably used a fake ID, but that's not important, what's important is that she owes us money, and if she doesn't pay.... well someone's gotta pay"
"I don't have any cash with me"
"Well you've got to pay somehow"
One of the men whispered into the boss's ear and the corners of their lips curved making a smirk.
"Oh don't worry we have something perfect in mind for you"
Two of the men left to the back room, I looked at the boss who was counting a wad of cash
"I don't suppose you can let me go out of pity right?"
He looked at me, unamused as he continue to count.
"So.... You run this casino? I heard it's pretty great!"
"If I were you I'd shut up unless you can pay me right now"
"Right...."
