Scarlet was trapped in a helicopter, sitting next to evil, with no idea what was going on. She had no control over her brain functions.Somewhere, deep down, the real her was desperately trying to fight back. It was almost as if she was trapped in a cage and couldn't reach the key to getting control of her body again.
Dale had done such horrid things to her, not to mention the brain washing in the first place. She despised him and wanted to slap him, but she couldn't.
Dale landed the helicopter on top of what looked to be either a hospital or a museum. Then, he took them inside and locked her up in a room.
He was gone for what seemed like hours.
Scarlet seized the chance to try and take back control. Wake up! Wake up! she told herself Get up! Get up! It was useless. Nothing seemed to work.
She closed her eyes and reminisced about her last few weeks. How she met back up with her horse, finding these jewels, and Lucas.
Lucas...
Scarlet didn't know how she felt about Lucas. Did she love him? Or was this just a summer romance? Whatever it was, there seemed to be some sort of connection between the two.
The memories cause a tear to roll down her cheek. She wiped it away. "Huh?" She said. She'd closed her eyes, cried, and moved her arm. She jumped up, only she was still locked in the room.
Got to find a way out. She examined the room. It didn't appear that there were any windows she could escape through, so her best chances were with the door. She approached it. The door itself sort of blended back in with the walls, but all you could see was the outline of it.
She pressed her fingers up against it. "Dang it!" She whisper-shouted. It was locked from the outside and that's the only way she could open the door. She slammed her back up against it and slid down to the ground in defeat. Is this it?! Am I stuck here forever?!
When all hope seemed to be forever lost, she got an idea. She'd only seen this in a movie, but maybe it'd work out for her.
She stood back up, "Come on, Scarlet." She told herself. She pushed the sides with all of her might to try and get at least a little bit of an opening from the wall. The she stuck a rock in between the crack.
Then, she breathed deeply and she slammed her body into the door over and over until it was ajar just enough that she could stick her arm through it to grab the door handle. She barely reached it, but luckily got it open.
Fortunately, the process didn't make a whole lot of noice, but she still had to be quick for she didn't know when Dale or his men would come back. There was a long hallway and it was very quiet. A little too quiet.
She searched for any guards, but saw none. She crept her way down the hall when she heard a faint beeping noice. It was extremely quiet, but she heard it.
At first, she thought it was just her imagination, but it was there. Is it a bomb?! she began searching the ground and then herself. That's when she felt it. It was in her shoe. The homing device. Dale and his men were tracking her.
They were probably on her tail now so she sprinted to the restroom and locked the door behind her. She heard voices from outside, "Open up!"
Come on, Scarlet! Think! Think!
Sweat beaded down her forehead as the men began to bust down the door. And then, all in an instant, the door flung open.
