Scarlet looked around for a hiding spot, but the banging on the door grew louder as it rang in her ears.

The door flew open and the men rushed inside. Dale followed the tracker to the window, "She jumped!" he exclaimed "Move out! Now!" And with that, they were gone almost as soon as the entered.

Scarlet popped her head out of the bathroom stall. She sighed of relief. Luckily, she had thrown the tracker out the window in the nick of time.

There was only a a matter of minutes before the men would realize that she'd outwitted them, so she had to act fast.

She peeked around the corner where the side of the door met the wall outside and examined the halls. It was clear. Scarlet was practically sprinting towards the exit when a guard appeared.

Lucas was in utter shock, "Brainwashing?!" he stared intensely at the floor for a while "How is that even possible?"

Anne sighed, "The stones," Lucas's eyebrows furrowed, "You know, those stupid rocks have seriously caused a lot of trouble and should be... I don't know... destroyed or hidden or something!"

Ed snapped, "What do you think we've been trying to do, boy?!" Anne hung her head, "That's why we buried it in the field. In hopes that no one would ever find it... because they're only this powerful when combined. We had hoped that when Scarlet would find the others, we could return them to the ground in which they were formed, so the world would be at peace, but they got in the wrong hands... like all the keepers had feared."

Lucas understood now, "I'm sorry," he says "I didn't know... but now that I do, maybe there's still a chance." Es scoffed, "Sure there is. That's what you kids always say! 'There's still hope' 'We can do this if we work together' Grow up! This is the real world and we've lost, okay?!"

Lucas shook his head, "I refuse to believe that. And I'm not going down without a fight... and... I think that I'm in love with Scarlet. I need to save her."

Anne nearly began crying as she nodded her head, "Okay, Lucas. But I'm old, I can't do much." Lucas beamed, "It's alright ma'am. I have a plan to get you and Ed out of here first. I can deal with the rest."

Ed's heart softened a little, "Hey, b-Lucas." he began "She's my great niece, but still, you'd better take care of her."

Lucas grinned, "Believe me, I will." he exhaled deeply "Okay, let's do this."

A.N/ Hi guys. I want to thank you all for your support and patience. A lot has happened and I sort of lost my interest in writing. I kind of lost touch with myself. But I'm back and I plan on keeping it that way. Thank you ❤️
