Chapter 8
We entered the classroom, and everyone went silent. That was weird. What was even weirder was that Zane and I were getting deadly glares. All from two very familiar faces. Faces that I would have second thoughts of punching, that is. Shannen Campbell. Head cheerleader, school queen bee, and the reason why I quit cheerleading. The other on was her best friend, Natalie Gray.

Flashback...
It was my first year in cheerleading and was doing exceptionally well. I’ve always been told that I had great talent in dancing, and I was very grateful for that. The other cheerleaders and I were all getting along great.
Turns out, Shannen didn’t know that I was a member of a dance crew. I had to skip one practice because we were having our last rehearsal before a competition. After that, she totally went berserk on me!
It was one practice, and they barely did anything new that day. She threatened to kick me off the team, but knew better since I was good friends with the rest of the team. Instead, she made me choose between cheerleading and the crew. Who I chose is pretty obvious right now.
I should’ve known though, that when she found something she could use against me, even the most unreasonable thing, she would use it to find a way to kick me off the team. She never really liked me. Maybe because before I joined the team, all the attention was on her. I kind of stole the limelight away from her when I joined, but it wasn’t like I meant to! I didn’t even want the attention. I just wanted to join cheerleading. Period.
Of course, Natalie, her best friend, stood by her side. Best friend her as*, more like her side kick. Thankfully, the other cheerleaders knew she just wanted me out, and we are all still good friends.

The two pairs of brown eyes kept glaring at us. I knew better than to let her petty glares affect me. I know I’m hot! Don’t you know it’s impolite to stare? We just said our goodbyes to Jeydon and headed to our regular seats. Apparently, Jeydon’s seat was beside Shannen, and she immediately started flirting with him. Figures. Typical Shannen.
“Looks like Shannen has a new reason to hate you.” Hearing that stopped my internal rant, and I turned around and found out it was Adrianne. Beside her was Brianna. Both of them were cheerleaders. They were one of my closest friends when I was still in cheerleading.
“What?” I groaned. “C’mon, she hates me enough. Now, she has a new reason?” I said exasperated.
“Well, her reasons aren’t very reasonable. So technically, she doesn’t really have a reason,” Zane butted in. The cheerleaders knew her because she would come by our practices once in a while. They all came to like her, but then, who doesn’t?
Both Adrianne and Brianna gave her weird looks. You could tell they didn’t understand a word Zane said. I, of course, did. We aren’t exactly in the same level when it comes to craziness.
“Never mind,” I laughed. “So why does she hate me NOW?”
Brianna was the one to answer me, “Isn’t it obvious?” she scrunched up her beautiful face, forming a light shadow on her brown eyes. She waited for a while expecting me to get what she’s implying. When I didn’t say anything, she said, “It looks like you and pretty boy over there got a thing going on,” winking at me.
