Chapter 9: Hidden Talent

Chapter 9

          “Good thing it’s Friday. We have to start doing our BIP tomorrow,” I told Zane.

          “Seriously, how can you be such a nerd?” was her brilliant reply. I just rolled my eyes.

          “If I don’t play the nerd, then we’d never get anything done.”

          She was about to retort, but thought about it for a while. I waited expectantly. She sighed. “True.”

          The rest of the ride went by in a comfortable silence. Even though we’re best friends, we still run out of things to talk about sometimes. We arrived at the warehouse with Jeydon right behind us. We parked our car, grabbed our bags, and entered the building. We were greeted with faint music playing. Some were just talking, some were already dancing. Technically practice hasn’t started yet, but I guess they just felt like it. Can’t blame them, the music playing had a really good beat.

          “Gimmeback my shoe!”

          Our heads turned to the source of the voice, and I just burst into laughter. Zane, who was by my side, looked just as ridiculous as I did. It was none other than Addison.

          Tyler somehow managed to get a hold of one of her sneakers, and held it above her head. Tyler wasn’t as tall as the other guys I know, but since Addison was only about 5’3, he still had a huge height advantage. The scene looked absolutely funny, with Addison jumping up and down, but still in vain. One of her blue and yellow striped socks was in plain view, and it was pretty cute actually. I liked coloredsocks, white socks were just not my thing.

          “Nope,” Tyler was clearly enjoying this too much.

          “It’s not my fault I’m short,” she said, and finally gave up. She wasn’t getting that shoe back with tactic she’s using.

          “Hey, I didn’t say anything,” said Tyler feigning innocence.

          “You didn’t have to,” she pouted.

          Tyler laughed heartily and gave her shoe back. I guess he decided she’s suffered enough. She took it roughly, and just pouted. Tyler just hugged her from behind and slowly, I smile crept onto her face. They looked so sweet and cute together. I keep forgetting their a couple because they aren’t really the lovey-dovey type. That, and Tyler still loves making fun of Addison. But we all know they really loved and cared for each other.

          I guess we weren’t their only audience. The whole room erupted in an ‘aww’. It was just too cute. This caused Addison to blush, but Tyler didn’t seem affected. He just kissed Addy’s cheek and sat down with the others. They started talking. Tyler was such a sweet guy. Addy’s really lucky to have him.

          “We are definitely watching this again in the future,” I heard from beside me. She just recorded the whole incident. I didn’t even notice she brought out her phone. I was too absorbed in the episode that had just happened.

          We walked over to the group, and Tyler immediately got up, and greeted Jeydon. He introduced him to the others, and vice versa. I could’ve sworn I saw the girls do double takes on him. I felt a pang of jealousy, but quickly realized that was stupid. It’s not like we were together in any way. Girls were completely free to ogle at him all they want.

We headed for the lockers to get changed. Practice was starting soon, and dancing in the clothes we were in now is probably not the brightest idea. Unless we wanted the crotch of our pants to split, then it definitely is not a good idea.
