Chapter 11

It was already around three in the afternoon, and things have been going pretty well. Our plan of melting the cans had worked, and they took the shape we wanted them to.

They looked pretty plain, though, so I decided to cut out some thin strips of the cans, and welded them as swirls and other details on the plates. My handiwork looked pretty nice, if I do say so myself. It was a good thing the cans we used were a little bronze in color. It actually gave them a really cool effect. More authentic looking.

“Where’d you learn to do that?” I lifted my head from what I was doing, and saw it was Jeydon who asked.

“I don’t think I learned it anywhere. Things like this just come to me, I guess,” I shrugged.

“Wow, you’re amazing,” he said, and my eyes widened slightly. “I mean, that’s amazing. The way things come to you like that,” he quickly corrected himself, looking away.

“Uhm, thanks,” I said looking down. I’m pretty sure my cheeks are tinted red now. I could’ve sworn I saw Vincent smirking. Zane nudged me. I looked up to see her waggling her eyebrows. Great, just what I needed. There was an awkward silence, and I just wanted so badly to break it, but I had no idea what to say. Thankfully, Zane did it for me.

“So yeah, teach us how you did that, so we can finish up faster,” she said almost too happily. Apparently she got joy out of seeing me blush. I taught them how I did it, and we were finished in no time.

“Yay! We’re done!” I cheered like a little kid. “I say, this calls for a celebration!”

“We celebrate with dog food?” Vincent asked raising one of the extra cans we had.

“If that’s what you want then be my guest,” I shrugged. Vincent just rolled his eyes at my retort. Well, he started it.

“Let me guess,” Zane said rolling her eyes as well. “Starbucks?” I nodded giddily. She knew me all too well. “I swear, girl, Starbucks must be a drug to you or something.” What can I say? I love Starbucks.

“Or...” she suddenly said sitting up straight in my bean bag chair. I repeat, MY bean bag chair which she hogs all the time. “Maybe, they really do put drugs in the coffee, but only Tori is affected.” I grabbed one of my pillows and threw it at her face.

“What? It’s just a theory?” she said.

That just made me roll my eyes. “Whatever. So can we take your car? I’m too lazy to drive,” I said crashing into my bed.

“Ugh, me too. Vincent, you drive,” she said mimicking my actions.

“We could take Jeydon’s car,” he said looking over to him. “I kinda want to see it, since I’ve heard a lot about it from other guys. I’m starting to regret declining that ride from you last time.”

Jeydon smirked at him, but accepted to drive us nonetheless. Well, he didn’t really have much of a choice, since we just kept passing the task of driving to the next person, and he didn’t have anyone to pass it on to.

I didn’t really bother changing anymore. The clothes I was wearing may be laid back, but they were still presentable enough to go out in. We headed to the curb outside my house, where Jeydon had parked his car. Somehow, it looked better than how I remembered it. Vincent clearly thought so, too.

“Dude! Your car looks like one of those in Top Gear or something!” Vincent exclaimed.

“Wow, you actually watch something other than cartoons?” I asked smirking. He just shot me a quick glare, before returning his full attention to the car before us.
