The Very Beginning

It was a normal Monday. Or at least I thought it was. I was sitting in the bus, earphones in, trying to drown out the voices when a shift in the air happens. I turn off my IPod and look around. Every single person was staring at the person that just entered.

He was probably about 5 ft. 11, short blond hair, and was drop dead GORGEOUS. I mean, sure, lots of cute guys go to my school, HHS, or Hollywood High School, but they're all jerks. None of them are interested in my mid-back red hair or my 5 ft. 5 height.

So I'm pretty used to being avoided. But the thing that shocked me the most was when Gorgeous came over to my empty seat and sat down. I stared, dumbfounded at this, and when he saw my expression, he laughed... a lot. So I put on my scowl and turned my music back up.

Out of the corner of my eye, I could see him intently staring at me, and every other girl intently staring at him. Pretty soon, it got annoying. I could see the school, so I thought this would be my chance to get him to Screw off and leave me alone. But my mind seemed to think other wise. Soon, all I could think about was the way that leather jacket perfectly framed his toned body.

As if reading my thoughts, he smiled at me. I opened my mouth to say something, but then Courtney (cleavage showing wanna be model) walks up, and I become invisible once again. She's so close to him she's practically sitting on his lap.

When we pull up to the school, I'm so annoyed with her flirting that I jump out of my seat, look Courtney strait in the eye and say, "If you wanna go and drag him on like every other boy at this school, at least do it in your own private time" and with an exasperated sigh, I jump off the bus and into the day that would change my life forever.

"What happened this time? Did they actually throw their crap at you?" My best friend, Megan, interrogates me at my locker. I don't even know why she hangs out with me. We're pretty much the exact opposite of each other.

I'm the geek, invisible, smart, teacher's pet, and she's the popular, pretty, cheerleader. But for some unknown reason, we've been best friends ever sice second grade when I stood up to the playground bully. How the tables have turned right?

"No, a cute guy started coming here and he sat next to me" I held up my hand when she was about to interrupt me. "Then Courtney came alonng and nearly sat on his lap, and I became invisible once more. "

"Oh" was all she could say before a voice cut in.

"Ladies, if you're not too busy gossiping, I was wondering if you could show Alex here around? He's new"

"Sure" I said with an eye roll to Megan before turning to look at this new Alex guy. When I saw him, I'm sure my jaw nearly dropped to the floor. It was the same guy as on the bus.

He caught my eye and winked "Hi" he said as if the whole bus scene didn't happen.

Megan looked between us. "Do you two know each other?"

I swallowed and forced myself to look Alex in the eye, "No, but we met on the bus this morning"
