Not long when Yan Da had fallen asleep, Shi slowly regain consciousness. He didn't open his eyes immediately though. He just lied there thinking about what happened.
When the light receded and opened his eyes. He saw Yan Da already unconscious on the floor with the boy still in her arms. In a snap, he was beside her. Looking around, the old man wasn't in the cave with them anymore. It even looked like he was never there in the first place. The eerie aura surrounding the place had also disappeared.
How did Yan Da know that creature anyway? What was he?
Shi then tried to move but he couldn't. That made him open his eyes.
Looking down, he was met by the Queen's peaceful sleeping face. Shi blinked not believing what he's seeing. He even pinched himself.
Y-Yan Da!?
Slowly, he had put his arms around her and then gently sat up. Shi then smiled, looking at the fire princess in his arms. He missed her. The last months, he just watched her from afar. Letting her do her responsibilities.
He's really proud of her. In those few months, she already did a lot. The connections between her tribe and his became stronger and their people became closer. Freely interacting without any fear of judgement and punishment. She also built an orphanage for the children who lost their parents and relatives in the war. Often times, he saw her playing with them. She even trained them.
Yan Da is the kind of Queen that doesn't stay only in the throne room. Every other day, she went out and interacted with her people. So, the people truly loved and respected her.
Shi lifted his hand, stroking Yan Da's cheek. "I'm really proud of you. Brother is lucky to have you as his Queen. Yan Da even though I can't stand beside you. I'll always be there behind you. Silently, supporting you and cheering you on. I love you, my Queen."
He then softly kissed her on the forehead. Lingering there for a while, imparting the message he couldn't convey.
In the balcony...
Ka Suo's heart throb in pain. Not because he's jealous but because he saw how the two loved each other.
Yan Da...
Shi...
Forgive me for being blind about your feelings. And I'm sorry that I couldn't help you both at all.
Morning came...
Ka Suo acted as if he didn't witness anything at all. The same with Shi and Yan Da. Both decided to not to talk about what happened.
Yan Da focused on her responsibilities again. Fixing things here and there. Announcing the upcoming marriage of Prince Ka Suo and Li Luo to the other tribes which shocked most of them but didn't question it.
One heart was totally crushed though upon hearing that news. Princess Lan Shang hadn't been well since Yan Da and Ka Suo got married. She rarely eats and barely sleeps. The Mermaid Saint is worried about her.
When the news came, the mermaid princess disappeared sending her grandmother in panic. In desperation, went to the Ice Palace for help.

Yan Da had just put her son to sleep. She was about to go and ask Ka Suo if he would like to go on stroll with her when she heard the Mermaid Saint talking to him.
She quickly hid herself, listening in. When she had heard enough, she left the palace. Going to the place where she knew the Mermaid Princess is.
Not long, she arrived at the garden of cherry blossoms. Silently, she walked towards the biggest one. She wasn't wrong. Lan Shang is indeed there, crying her heart out. Yan Da stopped, sitting near the mermaid princess. Just letting her cry.
"Why are you here?" Lan Shang said after a while, noticing the Queen's presence. Yan Da sighed not giving her an answer.
"Are you going just sit there and not say anything?"
"What do you want me to say exactly?" Yan Da returned. "If you want me to say I'm sorry, I won't because I am not sorry at all."
"You!" Lan Shang said, standing up and going to Yan Da.
"But I never did intend to hurt you this much." The Queen continued, stopping Lan Shang on her tracks. Yan Da then stood up, closing the gap between her and the Mermaid Princess. She pulled her into her arms.
"We will talk later. You need to sleep." Yan Da said, stroking the girl's back. Lan Shang don't know why but she felt her body relaxed and soon she was asleep in the fire princess's arms.
Yan Da sat down slowly, leaning on the tree. She then moved Lan Shang, putting her head on her lap. Adjusting her body so that she's comfortable. When she's done, she brushed away the remaining tears in the mermaid princess's eyes.
"Sleep well." she whispered, humming a soft lullaby.
When Ka Suo and the others found them, the two were both fast asleep. The Mermaid Saint was shocked because it's the first time that she had seen her granddaughter sleep peacefully. Not since Lan Shang's mother died.
Looking closer, she even saw a small smile on her granddaughter's face. Ka Suo just smiled. He was surprised too but when it comes to his queen. He should really get used to things like this.
