🎤Girl Singing
[Stands up]
Wish you knew;
Wish I meant something to you.
🎧Boy Singing
[Lifts face from his hands]
Wish I could throw away my pain;
And we could start again.
🎤Girl Singing
[Stands behind a curtain looking out between the bars on her window at the moon and the rain]
And I know too well;
That you don't, you just make my life Hell.
🎧Boy Singing
[Sits down at his desk]
Wish I didn't hit you;
Wish you'd see me through,
🎤Girl Singing
[Twists the curtain between her fingers]
Wish you didn't beat me everyday;
Wish that I could say,
[Drops the curtain from her hand]
🎤🎧Both Singing
I love you.
🎤Girl Singing
[Sighs, and moves away from the barred window]
But I can't change the past;
And illusions won't last,
I can't say it anymore;
You've shut love's open door.
[Takes a hairpin out of her hair and picks the door lock. She walks down the hall quietly]
🎧Boy Singing
[Picks up a pen and a folder, starts to go through a file filled with pictures of the girl]
If I tell you now;
You'll just ask me how,
I can look you in the eye;
And still manage to lie.
🎤Girl Singing
[Quietly unlocks the front door, and slips out onto the street]
I think this is the only way;
Wish that I could say,
"I love you," everyday;
But still your kindness decays.
🎧Boy Singing
[Sighs heavily, looking at a photo of the girl with him, both are happy]
I'm sorry, I was wrong;
Wish we could get along.
Can you open the door?
I won't hurt you anymore.
[Exits the office and goes toward the girl's room]
🎤Girl Singing
[Walks down the empty street, stopping at a bridge]
Even if you say you won't hurt me;
It can't be more than a lie you see.
What can I believe?
Wish that a "we" could be.
[Leans on the handrail, the rain falling softly]
🎧Boy Singing
[Sees the unlocked door, and rushes in, confirming the girl is no longer there]
Oh God! Where are you now;
You left, but how?
All the doors were locked, all the windows were barred;
Should have let you go free, but now you're scarred.
[Runs back to the office, and gets on his computer, looking at camera feed]
🎤Girl Singing
[Hangs her head downwards]
Wish you'd known;
Wish you'd stepped off your throne.
Wish I wasn't spent and through;
Wish you knew. . .
🎧Boy Singing
[Watches her exit the room on the computer screen]
Shouldn't have kept you in this golden cage;
Locked up in these silver chains.
Wish I wasn't blind;
Wish I'd made up my mind.
Wish I listened to you;
Wish I knew.
🎤Girl Singing
[Looks up at the moon]
I see the moon, it's so hard;
Been forever since the sight is not through bars.
[Climbs up to sit on the guard rail]
But now the time is nigh;
[Takes a deep breath before letting herself fall off]
Goodbye.
🎧Boy Singing
[Watches her slip out the door on the feed]
Where are you?
Wish I knew.
Where can you be;
[Notices emergency lights towards the bridge]
What are those lights I see?
[Phone rings, and he picks it up]
🚔Police Officer (Spoken)
Excuse me. There's been an accident at the bridge. You'd better come.
[Boy slams down the phone and runs out of the house]
