The light is all around me;
The memories, all surrounding.
[Turns around in the light]
It's all astounding, how much the darkness hides;
Joyful and painful, all the memories from the time,
The time when I was born;
My first early morn.
[Views memory fondly; smiles]
Wait! What's this? I don't recognize;
This stranger, this mother's eyes.
[Frowns, trying hard to think]
I see something, forms being signed;
Is this what I was trying to forget? Why control, I resigned?
[Sound of breaks squealing as she remembers the car crash]
Am I truly dead?
My memory says that I was adopted.
[Slides down against the wall, shocked]
