"Look they're here." Charlie pointed out as Richard's van drove into the parking lot at Battery Weed and behind him Noah and DeMeko in the truck.
As soon as they stopped their vehicles everyone got out.
"What's the plan from here?" Richard asked immediately.
Adalyn ran to her father and hugged him happy to see he was okay.
"Edgar has an idea. It's a longshot, but it could work." Abraham told him.
"Well what's this longshot?" Richard asked a bit more determined to get an answer.
"Well, follow me down to the water." Abe insisted as he headed towards the big stone bricked building.
"Wait what the hell is this place?" Asked Richard.
"I dunno, who cares?" Abe responded as he kept going.
Richard shrugged his shoulders, he honestly didn't really care either so he continued behind Abraham. They walked down a dirt trail which led into mud and finally to Edgar who was sitting in the small wooden boat by himself setting up the oars to row toward the ship.
"Wait, that's the brilliant plan?!" Richard sounded furious.
Edgar looked toward Abe and Richard.
"Hey!" Edgar stood up. "This is our safe way to the ship!"
"We can barely fir three people in that thing!" Richard shouted.
"But it's the safest thing to do." Edgar assured him.
"Why what was wrong with the city?" Asked Richard.
"Oh um, yeah no." Abe responded to that. "The city is not a method."
"Why not?" Richard asked.
"It's overrun, why else?" Edgar blurted out. "I'm telling you. That cruise ship will not be gotten to unless we do it this way."
Richard looked at the ship and then to the row boat. "It'll take all night for three people just to get there."
"It'd be worth it, right?" Edgar asked.
"I don't know." Richard responded. "Maybe."
"Listen, like you said three people maximum can fit on this thing. So you, me, and say someone else goes to the ship. Most cruise lines have ladder built into the sides of the ship and if there isn't I know we have rope somewhere in the cars, that being so that we can get to the top deck." Edgar rambled on and on. "And then once you and the other person got to the ship I'd row back for everyone else."
"Okay, okay." Richard stopped Edgar. "You've proven how much you've thought this through." He got closer to the boat and began to slowly sink in the thick mud surrounding the water. "We can do this."
"Yeah?" Edgar's face lit up, he was happy he did something right for the first time in a long time.
"Your plan does sound safest. I don't need anyone getting hurt or worse." Said Richard. "I'm thinking of taking Renard as our third man."
"It'd make sense, he can prove he was a passenger." Said Edgar. "And maybe there's someone else that only knows French, he could explain why we came. Like, he knows why, right?"
"Yeah, I think so." Richard said. "Adalyn's kept him in the loop."
"Alright, good." Edgar replied.
"Alright well I'll go talk to Adalyn, see if her father's up for it." Said Richard.
"Alright, I'll be here." Edgar told him as he sat back down in the boat.
"Okay then." Richard said lowly as he walked back toward the parking lot.
