As the sun began slowly setting Donny ran through the woods, scared, hurt, bleeding. He didn't have a weapon, he wasn't sure where he was going, all he knew was that home was where he was supposed to go and so home is where he'd get. He made his way through a thicket and out onto a road. As he ran down the street he wiped a bead of sweat from his forehead, replacing it with blood test was on his arm from the car crash. He ran past a small group of zombies lingering just on the side of the street, but just kept moving, he just wanted to be home and safe with his boys.
After fifteen minutes of running, Donny made his way to the gates of Cranbury, he ran past the brick building outside of town, he ran with as much strength as he could have run. Then, a loud tire screeched around the corner behind Donny about a quarter mile down the long narrow road. don turned back to look, it was the black pick up truck with the plow on the front bumper, Otis and his men had somehow followed him back home. Donny looked back to the gates of Cranbury and picked up his pace, he began to run as fast as he could.
"O-" Donny began screaming as he ran down the street, stumbling over his words briefly. "OPEN THE GATES! FOR FUCK SAKE GET THE GATE OPEN!" He looked behind him at the truck speeding towards him.
From over the wall inside Cranbury, Lonnie's head popped up and saw Donny being charged at by the truck. Lonnie yelled down to get the gate open. Bernie, David, and Bill all quickly began to pull open the gates. Donny ran inside and immediately turned around to help close the gate behind him. He watched as the truck got closer and closer to them and just as they got the gate closed, the truck nailed it throwing it back open, forcing the four of them backwards.
Both David and Bill flew backwards hitting off of a vehicle and fell to the ground. Donny and Bernie fell backwards and hurried over to the other two men who were lying on the ground in serious pain. Lonnie hurried down from the top of the watch tower along the wall and ran out into the street in front of the truck.
From the truck emerged the leather jacket wearing man, the man with the blade melted to his ring, the man that had murdered Martin in the light of day. He had a shotgun in his hands and without hesitation aimed at Lonnie, fired and killed him.
Lonnie's lifeless body just flopped out onto the black top, not a single movement after hitting the ground, he was gone.
From his office, Richard ran outside onto the sidewalk. DeMeko, Crash, Mike, Maxine, and Travis all followed behind him.
"What the hell was that?" DeMeko asked.
"The three of you." Richard looked at Travis, Mike, and Maxine. "Get inside my office and stay there."
Otis looked over to the ground, he looked to Donny and smiled, then waved his men out of the truck. People began coming outside of their homes and we're looking all around confused. Otis then grabbed ahold of a mega phone from inside the truck.
"People of-" Otis tried to think of what to say. "Of this settlement." He smiled at Donny again. "My name is Otis Tessaro and today seems to be a big day. For both myself and for all of you!"
DeMeko and Crash hurried towards the truck of men. all five of Otis' men aimed guns at DeMeko and Crash as soon as they neared them. Otis then turned to the two of them.
"Oh hello gentlemen." Otis smiled to DeMeko and Crash. "So sorry but, no guns allowed for you. Please, before my men get trigger happy, drop them."
Both DeMeko and Crash looked at one another, then lowered their guns to the pavement.
"Now that that's all said and done." Otis started speaking again. "Where is your leader?" He looked around at everybody that was watching him. "Or was he one of the guys I killed already?"
