"I'm freezing." Leslie said lightly, as he rubbed his arms with his hands.
"It'll be okay." Courtney told him. "It's worth being a bit cold to get to where we're going."
"I'm freezing too, this wind... It's killing me." Adalyn added into the conversation.
"Yeah, it's because they're driving so fast, all that cold air is nailing us." Leslie told her. "So, what's his problem?" Leslie asked looking to Renard.
"Boat!" Renard said confidently to Leslie who smiled at him.
"He's my dad, he doesn't know English, but he tries." Adalyn told them. "Back in France he never learned any English."
"How'd the two of you get out of New York with him unable to speak English?" Courtney asked.
"Well, when everything went wrong... We weren't in the city." Adalyn responded. "We went to Ellis Island, to see the Statue of Liberty and while we were on our ferry back to the city we learned what happened, so our conductor took our boat down the water."
"Where to?" Asked Leslie.
"I don't know, but it wasn't New York." Adalyn told him. "But that was why my dad and I survived. The boat conductor led us to safety."
"You surviving, trying to keep care of your father... Sounds rough." Courtney told her.
"Yeah." Adalyn responded with a loud sigh. "Rougher than you think."
"So have you ever killed?" Leslie asked her.
"Any? What zombies?" Adalyn asked.
"Yes." Leslie answered.
"Well, you kinda have to to survive out in this world." Adalyn told him. "My father and I have killed dozens. Have either of you killed any?"
"No." Courtney told her. "We never left the ship. We've been there since everything happened."
"Well, not anymore you aren't." Adalyn smiled. "Can I just ask one question?"
"Sure." Leslie responded. "What is it?"
"Well, why were there not many of you on the ship?" Adalyn asked.
"There was... Once." Courtney told her. "Over two hundred of us, but they all left."
"They would have rather do lived on land and risk death than guarantee life on the ship." Leslie said. "But I see now they were right. It would have better to leave a long time ago."
"That many people were on the ship?" Adalyn was shocked. "And they all left?"
"Yeah... Alot of good people left us, now we don't know where they are even at anymo-" Leslie's speech was cut short as Abraham stomped on the brake of the truck causing Leslie to jerk back his head as a natural reaction.
Charlie looked back at them. "We've got a bit of an issue."
"Richard, what're you thinking?" Abraham asked over his walkie talkie as he stared forward, past the van.
"I'll tell you what we're going to do." Richard started. "We're going to kill ever last one of them." Then Richard opened the can door and stepped out onto the black top and stared down an entire hoarde of zombies.
Abraham opened the truck door and look d in to Travis and Charlie, "Let's get these bulls ready, cause it's rodeo time." He grabbed his gun and headed toward the van.
"Have you ever killed any before?" Charlie asked Travis.
"No, I never even saw one before." Travis told him.
