POV Peter Pan
My heart ached like I had been shot. I could hear the gunshot as if I was in the room too, but I am here in Neverland, not in the room in which the gun went off. I run out of my office and run through the forest to the beach and take off to go to Wendy. I didn't care that the girl who would save us was here finally in Neverland, all I cared about was getting to my only true love, who was dying because of that girl.
Before I pass through the star, I raced past the lost girl and Warner. I was through the star in seconds and to Wendy's office seconds after her being shot. I push the secret passageway door closed and start to search the room for Wendy.
"WENDY! WHERE ARE YOU?" I call for her completely in a panic.
That is when I hear faint breathing behind the desk. I run over and fall to my knees the second I see behind the desk. She was drenched in blood, coming from the right side of her head. She was barely breathing and her eyes were barely open and seemed glossed over.
I pull her head into my lap and apply pressure to the wound. I stare into her gloss over eyes, "Oh, Wendy. What happened?"
"I... stalled... him," she coughs out.
"Shhh, don't talk, just rest," then I remember, "Can I kiss you one last time?"
She slowly nods her head against my legs, but then ends up wincing for the pain of moving her head.
I lead down to kiss her but stop to get her in a better position to be kissed. I lean back down and kiss her. The kiss was full of love and life. I would miss coming here to visit her and kiss her. But this is what happens when the devil sees the good in life. Once I pull apart, I whisper into her ear, "Wendy, you are my one true love, no one will ever replace you. I will love you forever," I take a pause to get a grip on my breathing, but I still end up sobbing out a "Goodbye!" as I lean down to hug her further. I end up sobbing into the curve of her neck. I stay that way until I feel her stop breathing. Slowly I pull my head away from her and look down at her, hoping the just maybe she is actually still alive. But she is not. She is gone forever in person because of that stupid Captain Hook. As I'm about to leave I remember that there are still more children here somewhere. So I set out to look for them, but I don't have to go far because the moment I opened the door I saw ten children. They all looked terrified, but the older ones were trying to put on a brave face for the younger children but you could tell they were just as scared. They all had bags around them and the younger children were clutching small stuffed animals.
"Come on children, I know somewhere where you all will be safe," I tell them showing them my hands to prove I meant them no harm.
The older children look at me suspiciously but still grab their bags and the younger children just grab their bags instantly. Once they have their bags I motion for them all to follow me. We walk into Wendy's office, the children's curious eyes scan the room, they find the room destroyed, covered in pale white bodies, and dark red blood. I notice there stares and they are scared, some of them even have tears in their eyes. It doesn't take us long to get to her desk and my heart breaks a little more when I see her again. When the children see her, dead on the floor, some have a mental break down and fall to the floor. I would normally try to help them stop crying but I was also crying and didn't feel like helping them through their pain when they couldn't help me through mine. Soon I reach the secret passageway and pull open the door and start to walk through.
I only get a few steps because I don't hear the children's footsteps following me, so I turn back around and come to the start of the tunnel only to find the children hovering over their dead friends. Only one of the children is by the door, she has on a light pink dress, stained with blood in the corner, she has a tiny bag on her back, she has a brown teddy bear in her arms and was strangling it for comfort. Her glossy light blue eyes, that reminded me of Wendy's, looked up at me full of sorrow. She walks up to me and grabs my hand, she looks like she wants to say something but she doesn't.
"Come on children, or do you want to stay with your lost friends?" I say kind of rude, but I don't care.
The children started to follow me toward the opening, until I heard a quiet voice from right next to me, "Mister, what do we call you?"
I look down at the source of the voice, holding my hand, "Peter Pan."
