POV Rania

I was big again, and I was laying on my back as Faylinn stood over me with her hands on her hips.

"Why did you stop, we barely made it through the door!" Faylinn screams at me.

"I heard someone whispering, something. I'm not sure what the whispering was though."

Faylinn's face goes a lighter shade of pale, which I'm not sure how that was possible since she was already really pale. "What, what was it?" I ask her feeling the blood drain from my face too.

Faylinn tries to brush it off, "Nothing," she shakes her head, "nothing."

She looked off in a daze, after a few minutes of me waiting for her to get on with the lesson. I finally give up on waiting for her so I touch her shoulder, she jumps and looks over at me and shakes her head.

"Sorry, bad thoughts. Thank you for stopping them."

"Ok?"

She brushes off my question, "Now back to training, let's start with learning how to bring out your magic. That way you can learn how to shrink and stay that way. Oh and don't forget we can't leave or stop until you have this down, the rest can wait."

I let out a sigh, this was going to take forever! "Well, let's get started."

***

After hours of standing still with my head "clear", I still couldn't call to my fairy powers. Faylinn was pacing, she was trying to figure why I had not gotten in contact with them yet.

She stops pacing right in front of me, "I don't understand! Your powers should've been activated by now," she pauses and starts pacing again, until she once again stops in front of me, "Are you believing in yourself?"

I nod my head, and she starts to pace again. She comes back, "Is your head clear?"

"As clear as it can get," I tell her.

"As it can get is not good enough, clear it," she pauses, "Let's try this, sit down, close your eyes and picture this," I do as she says and she continues "You're in a meadow, there are bright, beautiful flowers all around you. Now imagine the feeling of the sun on your skin and the light breeze. You are calm," I hear her starting to pace again, "You decide to lay down on the grass, you look up at the sky and see fairies flying around, and you feel sad because you can't. So, you decide to see if you can figure it out by yourself. You image your bones getting smaller and smaller and you shrink. You also image wings coming with your shrinking body, and then it happens in real life, you feel yourself getting smaller and smaller, and your back muscles stretching to bring your wings," she stops pacing in front of me, and I feel different.

Faylinn lets out a breath, "Raina, open your eyes," so I do, but when I open them, everything looks different. Bigger, somehow.

I look down at my hands, that is so tiny. I stand up hoping that will make me feel bigger but it doesn't, I look up at Faylinn who is super big now.

"What happened," my voice comes out all squeaky, and high pitched.

Faylinn shrinks down, "You did it! You activated your ability to shrink!"

She grabs my hands and starts to jump up and down with me. She also starts to screech, she stops everything, "WE SHOULD WORK ON YOUR FLYING!"

I put a hand over my ears to try and block out her excitement, it didn't work. She grabs my hands and holds them in her's.

"Copy me," she tells me, closing her eyes.

So I close my eyes, "Now picture your back muscles stretching, and flexing. Think of your wings as an extension to you."

I picture my muscles stretching and flexing, Faylinn lets go of my hands. "Now try to flutter your wings," as I do this I feel my feet start to leave the ground! I open my eyes to see Faylinn looking at me, kind of shocked.

"You are a really quick learner!"

"Maybe you're just a great teacher!"

She blushes at that, but quickly recovers and screams, "Chase me!" and takes off.

I huff and take off after her, she looks behind her and sees me coming and goes faster, so I go faster. As I look around me I see that we are leaving the training building, and I can't help but wonder why.

As we fly across the sky, I feel free and like I'm finally home. I close my eyes as I fly, and I feel a pull at my heart, trying to lead me somewhere. I follow the pulling, but I'm stopped when I feel a tugging on my arm. I open my eyes to see Faylinn pulling my arm, "Where are you going?"

I look around confused, I had lost the feeling, "I don't know."

Faylinn just pulls on my arm, "Come on we need to get you back to town, so that everyone can truly meet you."

I fly after her half-heartedly.
