Testing the limits

chapter 12

                              Ashlynn and Hayes

                We all went to the hospital to visit Ashlynn and Hayes. Hayes was due for surgery today. We were all just chatting with him. The nurse subdued him and he was out. We waited for what seemed like days. But finally he came out. the nurse checked in with us to tell us he was going to live and he was in perfect shape. Just some scarring. Ashlynn had woken up finally and was taken into surgery. She wa  Ok though. We went back home after the nurse told us they would be in the hospital for another week. That night I called my friend Jade. When I was visiting Christy last year I met her. We talked sometimes but not alot. I wanted her to fly in for a while. She agreed and was coming to Stay a couple days next week. Christy had called when she landed and everything was ok. Her parents came to pick her up. Her sister was home. We talked for a couple minutes but that's it. My dad's funeral was on a Thursday. Almost the entire family showed up. The burial was on Friday. That meant that everybody on Friday night got drunk and had a party in his honor. Angie and I were basically the only kids there because most of my cousins are older. My brother didn't stay long. Angie and I walked home even though we were about an hour away. Our parents didn't care. The we're drunk. When we got to her house we just watched tv. He  parents got home later on. How? We didn't want to know. I walked to my house an  My mom still wasn't home. I decided to go downstairs and played air hockey. Its quite boring by yourself.  The hospital called this morning.

hospital- hello, I'm calling about Ashlynn.

Ryan- Yes, I'm listening.

Hospital-She has gone into shock and we are bringing her into surgery. We will let you know if she is going to be ok.

Ryan-ok, thank you.

Angie I repeatedly screamed a I was running down the street like a maniac. She ran out of her house to meet me. What she said. Ashlynn, I mumbled out of breath. She's........ in........ shock....surgery. I couldn't catch my breath for some reason. Once I controlled my breathing I was ok. We had Ashlynn' s parents drive us to the hospital. I called Christy and told her what happened. I didn't tell Hayes because this is the last thing he needs to hear. We can't stress him. He needs time with his new heart. We ran into her room to find her not there. A nurse came in. Hi, I said kind of loudly. Hello she said. Is Ashlynn here I asked her. Who, the nurse said very confusingly. The patient in this room. Oh, she said looking at the ground. She has passed away from heart failure. Im very sorry. we all dropped to the floor. Angie fainted. Help.
