chapter 9

            We be okay?

The rain fell harder.

Courtney's pov

The rain started to fall harder and I woke up. Chuck was still sleeping so I decided to let him be.

I got up and walked downstairs. It was about 6:45 so I decided to make breakfast. Nothing special. Hayes was up but didn't get up. He waved to me and I waved back. Around 7 chuck walked downstairs.

"Hey", he said as we kissed. I turned around to maintain the stove as he put his hands around my waist.

He rested his head on my shoulder as Hayes walked in through the doorway.

"Hey now, get a room people," he smirked as he sat down. Ashlynn followed and sat next to him.

Chuck helped me carry a few plates of food to the table. The power had gone out so we lit some candles around the house. We sat down and ate.

The rain was slowed a little but the wind picked up. We had the radio on and were listening about the weather.

Nothing yet but still listening.We ate pretty much in silence. After we were done I went upstairs to take a shower. After I got out Chuck went in. I sat downstairs With Hayes and Ashlynn.

chuck's Pov

When I got out of the Shower I sat down with Courtney Across from Ashlynn and Hayes. I decided to go check on the horses. Every body else stayed inside. The driveway was flooded over from the pond. I made my way through it to get to the barn.

I opened the door and went in quickly, trying not to get a lot of water in the barn. The pen was pretty filled with water. I fed the John and then Lucy. It took maybe about 2-4 hours to actually brush them down and feed them.

I walked back down to the house. The pond had flooded even more and it was up to my thighs.

I got into the house and they were watching a movie. I went upstairs to dry off because of all the rain. Courtney came up to make sure the horses were ok.

I said yes and we both went back downstairs. Hayes and Ashlynn were

kissing when the radio started blaring. A chill of cold air drifted through the room.

Courtney clung close to me as a loud moaning sound broke out through the rooms.

Maggy was on the floor down low growling and showering her teeth. She was slowly stalking around the rooms.

Ashlynn was shivering and Hayes was trying to comfort her.

This big black shadowy figure crept through the room into the kitchen.

(CLASH BANG )

Post and pans were thrown all over the room and all the cabinets were all opened. The silverware was scattered everywhere and the kitchen table was flipped. we all ran upstairs and locked ourselves into our bedroom. Their was a loud knock on the door. Then a rapid banging and squealing that was repetitive.

There was no way of jumping out the window seeing that we were on the second floor.

If we did jump we were likely to break something.

We ran into the bathroom and locked the door as the bedroom door kicked in.

The bathroom door was left untouched for a moment. Until an ear splintering screech broke the door to wooden pieces. Standing there, was maybe the scariest thing we had ever seen.

We all screamed. Ashlynn fainted into the tub and Hayes fell into shower. Courtney screeched as she darted out of the room through the opposite door. I followed her into the living room.

From there we both dived behind the couch. We sat there for a good 5 minutes before we heard a loud bang followed by more loud noises. The couch was right next to stair case.

As we looked over Ashlynn Sat there. On the steps. All bruised and lifeless. Still breathing.

Unconscious. Scared.
