The Valley of the Portal
Chapter VII
Between Reason and Heart
At night, when Clara was laid in her bed, she thought about Rico and his totally lack of feelings. Unbelievably he was a kind of person or creature without emotional precedent. It seemed impossible to imagine.
She didn't get to know a black-and-white life. No colors, no friends, no affection. Clara just could imagine a cold and gray place with a lot of negativity.
But this didn't match with him. The guy who she frequently was talking to was different one and didn't seem to live in an odd and no color world.
For sure, he was an unknown. She remembered his green eyes and snow-white skin, his beautiful and ginger long hair and of course, his smile. He didn't smile so much but when this happened, for God's sake, was stupendous. A great presence whatever he was.
She kept in her mind his seductive voice and that hypnotic look. It was like the snake when got stuck the little bird. You could walk towards the death if you were stuck by his platinum eyes. And that perfect body? God, he really was in shape with all those muscles in evidence. His masculinity was present in his furious way to deal with messy situations and how he put his hands on his waist when he was watching something or someone intently.
She got up quickly and talked to herself.
"Come on Clara, think about how cruel he was when punished his own sister and how he almost caused serious injuries in your friend. Be realistic, please! It thinks about how he can be grouchy and moody and rude all the time. And...how handsome he is... "
This thought took her by surprise and she reprimanded herself. She shouldn't think things like that about him. Clara started to tidy her wardrobe just to distract herself and put Rico out of her mind. It was madness to think about him like that. They even could be closer without their bodies automatically prepare themselves to fight against each other. They needed of safe limit of distance and this wouldn't change in the future because their opposite nature.
From the other side of forest there was an anguished heart whose owner walked back and forth looking for answers to figure out what was fuck happening with him. He held his head between his hands with anger and closed his eyes massaging his temples to control himself.
Definitely he didn't know how to deal with the images of animist-girl tormented him day and night. It was like to be preparing him to battle. He planned everything and thought in all procedure strategically, after he kept his mind focused in it and worked in his goals tirelessly.
However, Clara wasn't a strategic thing to be worked but even so he was focused in her. The difference was that he didn't know what to do. Flashes from her beautiful face came in his mind, in his memory all day long. She as human or in her animist form, the sweet smile and her way to fight. Memories from when she was being held by that stupid Canadian lince.
A kind of suffocation pressed the Curupira's chest. It was called jealously, but he didn't have notion about this details. He thought it could kill the animist-lince if he wanted and that fuck silly guy would never ever touch her anymore or would hold her so close again. It would be good, but another thought came to his mind. Clara really liked her friend and of course she didn't agree with this attitude from him. Damn. Since when did her agreement or disagreement become so important to him? Since when don't let her upset was his priority?
He didn't have answers for these questions and this was driving him crazy. Rico concluded that something was wrong inside him. Something was really, really wrong with him.
