Flyers for a talent show were being posted around the school. Everywhere you looked on every single wall there was a flyer saying 'Spring Talent Show' in big writing and just underneath that in smaller writing it read, 'Sign up at the bulletin board'.
Right now I was walking down the corridor with Hannah, Libby and Matty. We hadn't seen Lindsey, Lucas or Stuart all day and we have no idea where they could actually be.They weren't in their normal space and Lindsey didn't reply to anyones texts last night.
As we walked down the corridor, every passing student moved out their way for us which they really didn't have to do because we don't mind squeezing past them, but if they insist then sure. Every now and again we would stop and ask a student if they had seen Lindsey and we always got the same answer, ''No sorry.''
We kept on walking down the many corridors of the school seeing as we had 10 minutes before we actually had class. Everyone always gets to school early here just to hang out before the school day actually starts which is pretty cool and different compared to the other schools I had been at. I guess everything about this place is new to me though.
As soon as we reached the end of the corridor we all sighed and then opened the door to go outside. Maybe they have just got here and have gone to the field, maybe... I scanned the field as I tried to look for the blonde mess. As soon as I thought it was Lindsey they turned around and turned out to be someone else, just my luck.
''What are we gonna do?'' Hannah frowned as she clung to Matty's arm. To be honest it feels like me and Libby were just their third wing people as they talked the whole way down the corridor, not even looking for Lindsey, Stuart or Lucas. Me and Libby did have our eyes peeled as we searched through the big sweaty crowds of students.
''Well we could...'' Matty started and then bit his lip and shook his head. ''Never mind, it would never work and Lindsey would hate us for it.'' What is he going on about? Wouldn't she appreicate that we did anything we could to find her?
''What? Just tell us! It might be good.'' Libby said and looked at Matty in the eye with pleading eyes. I don't really know why we are looking for them so much. Mattty sighed and then gave a little frown. Now what he has to say could be good!
''Well I was gonna say we could ask Max, but I doubt he'd know anyway and plus Lindsey doesn't like him and neither should we.'' Hannah gasped and smiled up to her boyfriend, ''What?'' He gave her a confused look.
''That is a great idea! Maybe Max will be able to join our group again and you know you want him back!'' She jumps up and down and then Matty pats her back and then nods to say lets do it. ''Lacey do you know where his locker is?'' Why is she asking me, may I ask?
''I think I do...'' Libby begins and then starts heading back into the big school building. We all follow behind her as if it is follow the leader. She goes down many corridors turning left and right and then finally ends up by his locker where he is chatting up some girl.
I cough quite loudly which causes him to turn around and for the girl to scurry away down the corridor. ''Wassuuuppppp?'' Max says with a bright smile on his face. I wonder what has made him so cheerful today.
''We were wondering if you knew where Lindsey was.'' I said and bit my lip. He shrugged his shoulders as if to say I dunno, but his movement and facial expressions seemed very suspicious. He was looking down at the floor as if trying to avoid eye contact with me. ''I think you do, now cough up the dough and tell us.''
Max took a deep breath in and then looked up at me with a frown on his face, ''Okay, okay. She's in the cafeteeria, she seems upset and I only know this because she talked to me. I'm not going to tell you why she's upset as thats for her to say.'' How could we forget to go to the cafeteeria?
