Nueve
We all walked into our normally boring school assembly hall, but right now it looked beautiful. I never thought our school council team would put in this much effort for our talent show. At my old school they would just put a few balloons our, but here, there are strobe lights, balloons, things hanging from the ceilings and even a buffet table. The stage's curtains are closed and at the moment music is playing loudly and everyone is dancing and having a good time.
''Where do we have to go?'' I look over at Libby and Hannah as I have never been to one of these talent shows they have at this school before.
''Follow me.'' Lindsey begins walking through the crowd, pushing past people who were about to shout what was that for until the realised it was Lindsey. She kept going and then came to a door, she opened it up and we ended up in the school hallways we all knew too well. ''I think we have to go backstage.'' She then goes a little further up and then goes up some stairs until we are backstage with all the other acts.
I look around at all the acts, some are dancers, some are singers, some are musicians, some are comedians and some are even magicians. There was a big range of acts here which even I couldn't wait to see myself. I then spot Max fiddling with the computers and a microphone is right beside him. I walk up to him sneakily.
''BOO!'' I shout in his ear and he jumps violently. I begin laughing hysterically. ''You...should have seen...yourself oh...my...lord.'' I say inbetween my laughs. I think I'm about to cry from laughing so much.
''I would quit laughing if you want me to continue fiddling with this microphone.'' He says with a straight face and he seems to have turned red slightly from embarassment, I'm pretty sure everyone saw how much he jumped.
''Ah sorry sorry, I'll stop.'' I put on my best pokerface, but I just can't seem to stop laughing espiecally when I'm not meant to. Is anyone else like that? I burst out laughing even more and he just rolls his eyes. ''Okay, okay I'm down now.'' I smile brightly and laugh inside my mouth.
''You're still laughing though.'' I shake my head vigorously at him even though I know too right I am laughing still. ''Just go over to the girls and let me finish up, you're really distracting.'' He motions his hands in a shoo position and I begin to walk away.
''Okay Mr Bench.'' I turn around after walking and give him a wink and then walk on over to the girls. They're all giving me smiles as if they know something about me and I don't. ''Whaattt?'' I say and furrow my eyebrows.
''Oh nothing, don't worry about it. Anyways the acts are starting up soon and we're last, which is just great.'' Libby still has the grin on her face, but I just push it aside, there are more important things to be thinking about right now. One being if Max has actually made the microphone sound good and second if our act is as good as we can make it. We've been practicing for a week now and we have the song and choreography all set. We began to just talk about our act together as we waited for the talent show to begin.
After about five minutes of talking, the music faded out and our presenter of the show, who just happened to be Lucas came onto the stage and greeted everyone. We all had to vote for the presenter and at the time of the voting, everyone actually liked Lucas...not so much anymore. I could hear boos being shouted at the stage and people shouting off off off off. The teachers had to go and calm them down, yes there were teachers here to make sure we didn't do anything illegal. Don't do drugs kids its not good.
After Lucas decided not to talk until everyone was quiet, he finally introduced the first act which just happened to be Chloe and her minions. They began to sing, 'She looks so perfect' by 5 Seconds of Summer. They seemed to actually be good at singing, but I don't think people are going to vote for them, unless we become the worst of the night. After they finished singing, there was a mixed reaction, some booing maybe not even based on their act and some cheering because of their act. Chloe bowed and then began walking towards us backstage. She had a smug look on her face and was not going to let it go.
