Ocho

Today was the day. The day of the talent show. We had been practicing a lot and seeing as Max had agreed to sorting out the mic for Lindsey we were sure we would have a great act. It just depends what the other acts are doing.

We all decided to go shopping for dresses for our act today. I got dressed into a white tank top with a lace peter pan collar, a denim worn out jacket with torn bits, striped blue and white shorts and white and light blue nike blazers. To accesories I put a diamond incrusted braclet and feather earrings. I straightened my hair and then got my phone out. I had no text messages from the girls so I decided to paint my nails. I painted them the same blue as my shoes and outfit. Now I just have to wait a while until they dry.

I heard my ring tone which was 'We can be heros'. I looked at my phone and saw that the caller was Hannah. ''Hello.'' I said in a cheerful tone.

''Hey babe!'' She replied back in the same tone, ''Lindsey can't make the shopping trip, but she gave us the honor of choosing for her. We were thinking different coloured dresses and Lindsey loves black so a black dress for her.''

''I see. Anyways are you and Libby ready?''  I asked.

''Yeah we'll come and pick you up now, okay?'' I then heard some shouting in the background and it sounded like Libby. I couldn't make out all that she was saying, but it was along the lines of, Lindsey is pulled. Wait does that mean she did it? With someone that isn't Stuart... ''Laceyyy. Lacey!'' I felt myself coming back to reality.

''Oh sorry, zoned out, anyways I'll see you soon.'' I heard a mm, ''Okay byee!'' I hung up and then got a shoulder bag and threw my phone and purse in there. I ran down the stairs into my hallway. I saw my mom making some food instead of Sam. ''Mom! You're cooking, wow what a surprising site!''

''Hello darling, yes I wanted to make something for you and your friends for the talent show so you better be coming here after school, okay?''  I saluted her as if to say yes I will not let you down.

''We're going shopping for dresses for our act today.'' My mom raised her brow at me, ''Yes I know we went the other day, but this is a special occasion and we all need a same-ish type of dress, we don't wanna look odd!'' Just as my mom was about to answer to my little lecture the door ringed and I ran over to it, as I opened the door a face I didn't expect to see was there. It was Max. ''What are you doing here?'' I gave him a confused smile and opened the door to let him in.

''I think you need to check your text messages Miss Mckenzie.'' I raised a brow at him, ''Basically they asked me to take you, don't know why and they said they gave you the explanation.''

''Well alright then, lets go!'' I grabbed his hand and dragged him out the door, slamming it shut. We walked hand in hand to his car, but that was when I hadn't realise I had actually grabbed his hand in he first place. I quickly let go and I felt my face heat up. My head fell to the ground as I tried to hide my face from him, I have an idea this method of making him not seeing me flustured has totally failed.

''You're cute when you're embarrassed.'' I could feel a smirk coming right off his voice. I roll my eyes and open the door as quickly as I can. I hear him laugh from outside the car as he makes his way to the drivers seat. He opens the door and sits down next to me. I still haven't read the text as to why the girls couldn't have just picked me up...

I got my phone out and read the text from Hannah it read: Sorry babe, not much room in the car. Libby's bags from having her over are taking up all the space in the back. Asked Max if he could pick you up, see you soon!

''What you reading pretty girl?'' Wait is that my new nickname or something, I guess it's not too bad... But then why is he not just calling me by my name, Lacey, Lace? I don't know, but 'pretty girl' doesn't make any sense.
