Chapter 1

Blake Michealson's Pov

"Dad Save Me!" I screamed and struggled hopelessly when the kidnapper shoved the phone in front of my face.

"We got your son Mr. Michealson, and if you wish to see him again I suggest you prepare 10 million dollars and bank it in to this Cayman account. If not you can say goodbye to your precious son."

To think I would be relieved when I heard my father's voice, but all I heard was a cold laughed followed by his cold and harsh tone. "I don't care who you are and how did my pathetic son end up with you but there is no way in hell that I am going to give you the money. It is his fault because he is too weak that gave you the chance to catch him. I won't be paying a single penny to you. It isn't worth it. You can keep him for all I care." And with that he hung up.

My father. The man who is suppose to love and protect you, didn't even give a shit about me when I got kidnap. And now he won't even pay the ransom to free me.

"Your father is not going to save you kid. Save your energy." The man said before he pointed a gun to my head, pulling the trigger.

"No!" I opened my eyes. It was only a nightmare. A stupid nightmare that I would never get out of my head. It's been 16 years since it happened and my weak mind still hasn't gotten over it. I got out of bed, going down to get a drink when I saw that I had 20 missed calls from Shawn, our family's trusty assistant.

"Blake, your father is in the hospital. He got into a serious accident; you need to come here quick."

"Are you serious? What happened? Is he okay?"

This cannot be happening...... I just woke up and this is the news I received?

"His currently in surgery but we need you and your family to come in quick."

"It's about damn time." I muttered "I'll be there soon."

Finally. The old man is finally going away. This is the day I have been waiting for. The day where I finally get to inherit his multi billion company and all his wealth. God knows how long I have been waiting for this day.

When I rushed to the hospital all of my family members were there, Nicholas, James and Maya were all outside the emergency room with a cool composure, this is not the scene that you usually see when your family member is in there. What can I say, my family is made from the devil incarnate himself, except for James the goody two shoe who is soft, kind and compassionate. Pretty pathetic if you asked me, he should know full well that without power and money he is nothing in this world.

Fake tears were in Maya's eyes and you could clearly spot a smug grin on Nicholas' face. The only person who seems genuinely worried for our father was James who buried his face in his palms. It's useless trying to pretend to be sad over the old man, so instead I sat casually on the lounge in front of the surgery room, beside James waiting to be blessed with the news while I scrolled through my phone.

"Please please please be okay." I hear him silently pray while running his hands through his blonde hair a few times. I rolled my eyes. Is he seriously praying for the old man? Wouldn't all of us be happier if he wasn't in our lives anymore? We get to split his inheritance for goodness sake although I'm pretty sure as the oldest son I would be getting the business. The only person who has the chance of snatching it away from me would be Nicholas and I would never let it happen. We have been fighting for years over the company with me now currently the COO of the company while Nicholas is the CFO.

It's already obvious that I stand a better chance than him in running my father's company, he would be out of his mind if decided to hand it to Nicholas. James on the other hand is not a threat at all he doesn't even really work in the company, his still in school studying Law is currently an intern as one of our legal consultants. His dream is to open his own Lawyer firm, crazy that he wouldn't want to budge in on the family inheritance but hey it's not like I got anything to lose. If anything I would be happier that there's one less obstruction in my goal.
