Chapter 11
Brooklyn Grayson's Pov
When I checked the clock again after finishing all my work it was already dinner time. Quickly making sure that I look decent, I made my way up to call Jeremy for dinner.
"Jeremy open up. It's time to go down for dinner." Knocking on his door I called him but there was no answer. "Jeremy!"
"He already went down 5 minutes ago." A voice behind me said, making me jump in shock. "Sorry I didn't mean to startle you Brooklyn."
"It's fine Nicholas."
He smiles at me when I turned to face him. "Shall we go down together?"
I smiled at him and followed him to the elevator. "So how do you find everything here? I hope you are happy here."
"It's a little overwhelming but I know I'll get used to it after some time. I didn't really get to know you though you seem better and much more friendlier than your brother Blake."
He throws his head back and laughs. "Well, they do say I'm the better brother than him. Hey listen if you need anything you can always call me for help, I'm just a floor above you and if I'm not here's my number."
Accepting his name card from him, I let out a small laugh. "Thanks. I really appreciate your friendliness and help here. Your sister is a bit too welcoming and well Blake is certainly not helping with his presence, although I still haven't had the chance to meet James yet."
"Look I'm sorry about what happened last time in the hospital. We really didn't mean it when we said we wanted to let our dad die. It's just -"
I cut him off before he can continue, "Look it's fine no matter what happens in the past stay in the past. I already forgot about it a long time ago."
"But I -" The doors of the elevators opened before he could finish what he wanted to say and I took the chance to cut him off again.
"How about this we both forget about what happened in the past and then start our friendship new starting from now, deal?" I stopped him, extending my hand out to him.
He studies me for a while before taking my hand to shake it, a charming smile making on his face that I'm sure will melt other girls into a puddle. "Deal. Nice to meet you I'm Nicholas Michealson."
"Hi, I'm Brooklyn Grayson." I smiled back at him.
"Come on we are already late for dinner. The dining hall is this way." He lets go of my hand and leads me down the hall. I would need a map to get around this building.
Everybody was already sitting at the dining table waiting for us, Henry at the end of the wide rectangular table. I took the empty seat in between Jeremy and Maya, Nicholas taking a seat next to James. I can't help but notice the seat that is next to Nicholas and directly opposite of me is empty, there is only one person left that's not here. Blake.
With two snaps of a finger, Henry called the servants to start serving our food. Aren't we going to wait for Blake? "I hope you like to eat steak Brooklyn, Jeremy. Our chiefs cook one of the best steaks in the city." Henry smiled as he asks us.
Jeremy remains silent, although he smiles shyly at him. "Jeremy loves steak." I helped him to answer.
"So Brooklyn I heard from Blake that you have a serious problem in the wardrobe department. He said that you couldn't even fill in half of it." Maya chirps in as she starts cutting her steak.
Henry raises his eyebrow at me while he chewed on his salad "Really Brooklyn?"
"Yes but it's fine. I don't need that much stuff anyway." I said nervously. Please don't do something about it.
