Chapter 17

Brooklyn Grayson's Pov

Shock and Awe are the only words in my dictionary right now. The whole place is made out of shiny marble, I think I even saw my reflection on the floor. All the walls are made out of glass where you can see the natural light shining through the entire hall, enhancing the luxury feel.

"Come on." Blake urges me, striding through the floor with his long legs.

He feels so confident and cold in here, it's like he has completely turned into a different person once he stepped into this building. The obvious CEO material kind of person.

"Good Moring Mr. Blake." Almost everybody greets him as he passes through. A few of his workers even stepped out of the arriving elevator quickly for him to step in, choosing to wait for another one instead.

He didn't even bother to acknowledge them, walking pass them casually as it is a usual event. I suppose it is a usual thing for him but the least he could do was smile at them? Oh who am I kidding? He is Blake Michealson after all. The cold, menacing looking guy who is obviously feared by everybody in this company.

"You know the least you could do was nod your head or something." I told him once we are alone in the elevator.

He gives me a look from the mirror and says it impasively. "It's better to be feared than to be loved. Trust me on that."

Great. What am I suppose to say to that? We reached the 38th floor in awkward silence and me silently gawking his solid figure from behind him. I'm pretty sure he knows what I'm doing judging on the small smirk on his face.

Prick. As soon as we exit the elevator doors, Blake's assistant immediately walks to his side, she gives me a small smile of greeting as I walk out of the elevator a few steps behind him. She's very pretty looking, but the face when she see's Blake is enough to tell me that she fears him as well. It must be very hard to work for the devil, I'll give her credit for that.

"Give me the latest update Serena." I shudder a little when he runs through everything with Serena. He turns into another person, all business like.

He suddenly stops, turning to face me. "What would you like to eat?" He's even talking to me all business like.

Didn't I just eat back at his house? "I'm not hungry." I'm starting to feel uncomfortable and beginning to wish that I had throw a fit instead so that I can stay home and go to Zach's party later.

Blake's expression softens. "What do you like to eat?"

"I'm easy." I shrug before I even realized what I said. Blake's eyebrow quirks up in amusement as he looks at me, looking me at me with a dirty smirk. Great. "I mean I eat anything really." I quickly correct myself.

"Coffee?"

"Yes please." He asks and I nod.

Blake didn't ask me what coffee I like, proceeding to tell Serena. "Go get us coffee from Starbucks. One Cuppuccino and Americano."

"Yes Sir."

"Good. Bring the coffee to my office." He gives his orders while staring at me with his big blue eyes.

My hand is grabbed and lead through the hallway to his office, jogging up to keep up with him. He grabs my bag from my hand and throws it at the sofa opposite of his table in his office. "You'll sit here and wait for me while I work."

He has got to be kidding me? He wasn't joking at all when he said he's not going to let me out of his sight. "And what am I suppose to do there?"

"You can do some reading." He nods his head to the sight of the table, a bunch of books stacked up neatly at the side of the table. "I got you all the best books related to your major. And I also got you stationeries so that you can study better."
