Sidekick, teacher dog

"It just talked!" Percy gasped.

"And it can hear you" the dog rolled its eyes.

"I'm sorry... I've just... never seen a talking dog before" he walked slowly into the dorm.

"Well to be honest not many exist, but I don't want to go into all that now, there is more important things to talk about" Percy and Amy looked at each other in confusion.

"Come in Amy, won't do harm in listening" Percy sat on a squishy beanbag that had been placed in the middle of the dorm.

The dorm itself was a comfortable size, a large window covered the far side, curtained in sea blue and a futuristic bunk bed stood opposite. As Amy walked in she ran her hands over the intricate carvings along the side. The dorm also include a large bookcase, blue yet a again matching the colour theme and two double doored wardrobes.

"This is pretty fancy" Amy slowly sat next to Percy, taking in her surroundings.

"Wait till you see the third year dorms" the dog came and sat in-front  of them," I'm Pippin, your...Well I guess sort of sidekick, teacher dog and Mrs Volira said you might need a bit more explanation in the new world you've recently come into"

"That would be amazing...er Pippin, like as much as you can tell us" said Amy.

"Ok, Well welcome to Rovesier a school for special beings, mostly spirits, where you can learn the skills you need to live in our world.  second years are on this floor so don't worry if it seems like the people around you know what they're doing, they've had a year of practice and you're allowed to spend as much time as you want up here out of lessons. The house room downstairs is where you can mingle with friends, play games and there is a notice board for any news"

"Where is everyone at the moment? We've only seen the prefect" Percy jumped in.

"Oh probably asleep, they moved dorms yesterday and most will be enjoying Their last day of holiday. Oh and some will be arriving today along with the first years"

"Maybe we can meet up with Alex again" Percy suggested.

"Oh yes, Alex he's dorm number 3... may I continue"

"Yes" Amy laughed ruffling up her brothers hair.

"Right, So today you have a free day just to get used to things and meet people, but tomorrow you start lessons. Seven lessons five days a week and four on Saturday, you'll get your timetable tomorrow... Ok now everything here may be all strange and magical, like your fairytale books came to life, but it's all very serious too just so you know that"

"Do vampires and werewolf's  exist?"

"Sorry about him" Amy rolled her eyes.

"No luckily those don't exist, who could imagine what the dark spirit would be able to do"

"Who's the dark spirit" Amy felt a shiver going down her spine.

"Another conversation for another time, I've got some stuff I need to do so I'll see you later" Pippin got up quickly and scampered out the dorm.

Pippin just couldn't face telling them the whole truth, it was what she was meant to do in the first place, but something was stopping her. She had to slowly tell them and was going to ask Tommy and Alice for help.

The twins wandered around in silence for a moment, checking out out all the things in the dorm. Percy unpacked the rucksack laying out the old books and the postcard left by their parents.

"I wander why we need a sidekick teacher dog, as Pippin put it" Amy pulled out a book on Rovesier history.

"Beats me, I think it's pretty cool to be honest, but you're right something doesn't add up... maybe we should ask Alex" Percy was now rummaging through the wardrobe and found one of the blue crossovers Alex was wearing the previous day.

"Maybe we'll ask later, I want to see if we can find out who's in the surrounding dorms" Amy put on her crossover.

"Looks cool... lets go" Percy swung open the door only to find two people staining directly in front of it. One a mousy haired boy With a stern but freckly face and brown eyes, and a girl with long brown waves skinny figure also with brown eyes.

"Maria, and this is Sparky, I believe you two are the new first years on the seconds years floor" Maria thrust out a hand which Percy shook warily.

"Umm, hi I'm Percy and this is Amy... are there really no other first years on this floor?"

"No they're all in the floor below" Sparky smiled a little creepily," Well we just came to say hi and that if you need, come to room twenty if you want some help with anything"

"Sure thanks" Percy smiled and watched them as they went down the stairs, " That was wierd, promise me one thing Amy, please don't go and ask them for help... somethings not right about them"

"No need to worry, I'm pretty sure I won't" Amy shivered.

"Add that to the asking list" Percy leant against the wall outside the door.

Pippin only had to go around the corridor, Tommy and Alice had chosen a dorm right at the end so they were away from Sparky and Maria. Pippin nudged the door open and found the two already up and unpacking homework books and pictures from over the holiday.

"Hey Tommy, Alice!"

"Pip!" Alice ran up and hugged Pippin, "it's been like, forever" she hugged her again.

"Yeah I've missed you two"

"You look like you need something pip" Tommy knelt down beside Alice.

"Perceptive as always," Pippin sighed, " Well you're right, you see the twins from France have arrived and I really need to tell them about everything... they're pretty clueless"

"I know I met them yesterday" said Alice.

"Oh I see, Well they are room number twelve on this floor, if you could possibly keep an eye on them today from you know who, I've got something to do with Mrs Volira"

"With Miss Volira?" Tommy was confused.

"Yeah, she knew Helen well" Pippin looked sadly at her paws, she missed Helen deeply, ever since she had died it was like a part of her was missing.

"Well of course we'll keep an eye" Alice stroked Pippin comfortingly.

"Well two eyes as Gandalf would say" Tommy smirked.
