Don't Hurt Her

Ben's POV
"Apollo, Kayla follow me." Rey says getting up and exiting the cockpit.

"What are you doing?" I ask.

"Hiding them. They only know for sure that we are on board. Help me with this." She goes to pull a floor cover up and exposes a small section underneath.

"I forgot that was there." I help pull it clear.

"Okay Apollo, you need to be very quiet and listen to Kayla." Rey tells him.

"Yes mom."

Kayla climbs down and helps Apollo down next.

"I think I may be able to hide him under these pipes down here." Kayla suggests.

"Do whatever to keep him safe." I tell Kayla, who nods in agreement.

The lights turn on and I know we are getting close.

"We love you." I say then use the force to place the covering back into place.

"Come on." Rey grabs my hand intertwining our fingers and leads me to the engine room.

We walk inside and she shuts the door and turns off the lights, removing her hand and placing both hands on my neck.

I pull her close to me and she rests her head against my shoulder and I kiss the top of her head.

She looks up and kisses my lips softly.

"Whatever happens Leia can not know I'm with child."

"Why? If she knows that she may not kill you."

"She'll turn him into something he's not. I don't want him to be used as another weapon or pawn in this game."

"Or her, but I get what you're saying. This stays between us."

"For as long as it can." She finishes.

I lean down and give her another kiss.

The sound of the ramp opening catches our attention and I pull away.

"Wait, one more, I don't know when I'll get to kiss you again." Rey whispers.

I give a sad smile and return to her lips.

Our kiss this time is broken up when the door opens and I am pulled harshly away.

"Force cuff her." A woman's voice I recognize demands.

I see Rey hold her wrists out, not even trying to restrain.

"Ben, come with me." She demands again.

"Yes, mom."

I love you. I voice to Rey.

I love you too.

"Why did you bring her here?" She asks as she walk down the ramp.

"This battle got caught in our path. One of your resistance droids spotted us, so we took off as fast we could without direction." I tell her.

"Yes, we just received word of your location on Takodana. Had you chosen a different path you may had gotten away." She leads me in to the Bridge. "I need you right now."

I give a sarcastic laugh. "Oh yeah sure, trap us here, and of course I'll help you."

"I know you will." She looks out the front window at the battle unfolding. "I need you to go out and take out as many ties as you can, then check back in with me."

The door opens again and I can sense Rey has arrived.

"And what makes you think I will help you?"

Leia steps away from the window and walks over to Rey, who now has her hands cuffed behind her.

Leia's hand reaches out quickly and harshly slaps Rey, causing her to sink to her knees. "You'll do it or I'll continue to hurt her."

Leia looks over her shoulder at me and I can see the tears begin to form in Rey's eyes.

"Do it Ben." She hangs her head, not looking at me.

"Rey-" I begin. 

Rey looks up. "Ben, go. You know what you have to do." And why. Go, so she may let me go.

"What do I get out of it?" I address my mother.

"I won't hurt Rey." She replies.

"You won't kill her either." I state.

The rooms becomes deadly quiet.

"Fine." She walks away from Leia. "We have a Tie Slicer for you and a spare two Ties will follow so you can try to blend in."

"Won't your squadrons fire at him then?" Rey asks.

"No, we placed a special symbol only our ships can see on them." Leia replies.

"May I say goodbye?" I ask my mom.

"From where you stand." She snaps quickly.

I cross my arms over my chest and stare at my mom.

"You'll see her again, remember I can't kill her." She turns away from me.

I steer my eyes to Rey, who is already looking at me.

I relax my arms and make enough room that Rey could easily fit. I push the feeling on to Rey of my arms wrapping around her small frame and she gives a small smile, closing her eyes. I feel her push her presence back to me, but our connection is cut when my mother pushes me to start walking.

"I love you." Rey calls out to me.

"I love you too." I reply before my mother shuts the door.

We walk down the path we took before and back into the hangar.

I see the Falcon being searched, but they haven't pulled out Kayla or Apollo yet, so I know they are hiding well.

"No funny business." She tells me. "Try anything and I won't hesitate to hurt her."

"Mother, please don't."

"Then don't make me."

"I'm not making you do anything. You basically have a blaster to my head, using Rey against me."

"I'm just-"

"Playing dirty like the First Order." I interrupt.

"Things have become more complicated Ben."

"Which is why Luke told me to leave."

"No he didn't." She shakes her head.

"Yes he did. I left and found Rey. We both wanted out of this war. That's why we went into hiding."

"You helped start this war and you're going to help finish it."
