In a few short hours I expected to find myself in Forks where I would find my dad and in the next few days twin sister. I had left before her since I didn't that driving was a lot better then riding a metal death trap. And it was the only way I could keep my car.

Stretching out my leg, I shifted uncomfortable in the seat. Since I started the drive there were few places I stopped to rest. If it wasn't for gas or for me to use the bathroom, I had no reason to stop.

A rest stop sign blurred past my window. I cracked my shoulders as my fingers tightened on the wheel. Maybe I should stop to rest a few minutes.

My dad, Charlie Swan, would no doubt be checking up on me again. Between him, my mom, and new step-dad the three had worked together to get me a phone for the trip. Mom was completely freaked out and even dad shared his concerns.

Flicking the turn signal I found myself back turning into the next line and taking the off ramp for the rest stop. There wasn't much traffic in the lot and it was easy finding a few spot.

Besides the stormy sky that doomed me if rain actually began to fall, I found nothing to be wary off. Dad, being the Head Cop of Forks, told me stories about rest stops and how I always had to look around and be alert. And the most important thing was keeping my car locked.

Grabbing my fur jacket and cat hat, I pulled the duo on so that I could brave the cold weather outside. Before I could step out and stretch my tired bones my phone vibrated before ringing.

With wary eyes I was right to assume dad would be checking in soon. A smile came as I knew he was worried and cared about me. I didn't doubt that, even as I lived with mom for seventeen years.

"Hey, daddio."

"Hows the drive, Kiddo?"

The door opened and a brush of freezing air hit me. I sneezed, whipping at my already running nose. The weather would take some getting used to.

"Long," I said as I slid one foot out before the other. "I should arrive in a few hours."

Standing, I stretched my arms, feeling as the wind blew from the front. Turning so that it would hit my back and not cause my nose to become redder, I found someone staring at me.

He was pale. Really pale. Almost like snow, pale. Which was odd. I've never seen anyone that white before. Yet, he was beautiful. Angel like beautiful.

No he was better looking then Pierce Brosnan.

But the strangest thing, the most terrifying thing about him was his eyes.

"I thought you were going to take your time? You shouldn't push yourself. Arriving tomorrow works."

Red eyes. Vibrant.

He should have been too far for me to notice. I can't even see the color of my teacher eyes in class and I usually sat in the second row. Yet his.

There was no mistake.

"You haven't been driving all night, right?" Dads voice brought me back.

Yet I'm not sure what he said. Was it about me driving?

"Dad, I'm fine, really."

I turned, the spell broken even as I found myself wanting to look back at him. I found myself wondering if he would come over and talk to me. If I should go to him.

No, what was wrong with me?

I may have never seen anyone like him before, but this was weird. My heart racing as I looked. My fingers curled around the phone.
