Chapter Twenty-Two: Arguments

"We can't!" I argued, tears burning my eyes as I glared at the vampires and my sister. "We can't run."

"It's the only way," Bella said, grabbing my hand with a pleading voice. "We have to."

I shook my head knowing that we couldn't escape a hunter if we were the prey. I knew that I would be safe, unlike my very unlucky sister but that didn't make it any better. How could I tell her not to go when she wouldn't be safe by staying here.

"We have to hurry," Alice warned.

"Please, Renee." Bella pleaded.

My heart ached just at the thought of what my sister would do, what she wanted me to do. My decision wasn't final, wasn't completely set which would mean that even Alice wouldn't know what I would pick. I could either lie to my father and risk saving him from this or I could say the truth and bring my father into the world that we live in.

"I can't," I mumbled, my heart twisting painfully.

Edward sighed. "Alice, Emmett," Edward commanded.

The two disappeared leaving just Edward with me and my sister. I didn't know what the mind reader was going to do or if he even knew that himself. He pulled my sister and started towards the house.

"Don't do this." I cried out, knowing that Bella was about to make a mistake. "Don't do this because there are other options."

"15 minutes," Edward warned, ignoring me.

"I can do this." I clenched my fist at my sister's words.

Was this the right thing to do? Would this really solve anything? Can she really escape the hunter?

"Bella."

My sister turned, slamming the door in his face after telling him to leave her alone. I moved, my heart aching as no thoughts passed through my mind. I already knew what I was going to do before I thought it.

The metal twisted under my hand, the door cracking open as my heart raced. Edward had disappeared, no doubt going to help my sister get what she needed if I didn't make it to her before. There was still a chance that I could change her mind.

I pushed the door open hoping that I could reach her. "Isabella!" I shouted, my eyes moving past my father who was standing in the kitchen doorway watching my sister. "Damn it, Isabella!" I shouted, trying to push myself to go faster.

I couldn't lose my sister. I couldn't lose her.

"Leave me alone!" She shouted, her bedroom door slamming shut.

Charlie was right behind me, as I raced up the stairs. My hands slammed on the door before I tried to open it. She had locked it, no doubt not wanting us to see Edward helping her run away.

"Bella!" I shouted, feeling as my throat clenched. "Bella, please." I pleaded wanting her to listen to me.

"What's going on?! Bella, are you okay?" Charlie demanded in a frightened tone.

"Don't do this Bella." I pleaded, feeling as Charlie rested his hand on my shoulder. "Don't let her go." I turned, knowing that he would be the only one to stop her if I couldn't. "Dad, don't let her go."

"Where are you going, Bella? What happened?" He demanded, confusion clear on his face.

He hadn't' expected us to turn up like a mess before him. One daughter crying and begging her little sister to stay, the other packing to leave. One daughter breaking right before him, one building up her walls so he wouldn't get hurt.
