(A/N - I'm apologizing in advance for the many point of view switches, sorry.)

- Eight Weeks Later -

The whole summer, I hadn't talked to Weston once. Mae kept me updated on all of the offers he got over the summer. Vanderbilt, Louisville, Mississippi State, Clemson, and Louisiana State University. All of which were schools on my list.

As if I weren't already drawing attention on myself by starting school two weeks late, I made another dramatic change.

I dyed my hair.

My whole life I'd been blonde. It was my natural hair color, Gabe and I were the only two with bright blonde hair.

I wanted to let it go, so I went brunette.

It was a nice change and I think I've never looked more like my dad.

Then again I scared myself every time I passed a mirror.

When I got home from New York, my family made signs and my mom even made me brownies. It was good to be home, even with the lights and buildings in New York - I missed North Carolina.

I unpacked some of my things and called Mae.

"Hello?" She answered

"Hey! I'm home, do you wanna go and get smoothies or something?" I asked her

I could hear her mom talking in the back in the back about some low-calorie diet she was starting.

"We can go get some acai bowls! I'll meet you at that place in fifteen minutes, I really need to see the hair in person and catch you up on everything." Mae approved

I nodded, "Alright, see you in fifteen Maeisy."

I kept on the loose white t-shirt along with Lululemon shorts and Nike shoes. I brushed my hair out, put on some mascara and concealer.

My keys were still on my dresser where I left them, so was my purse. I gathered my things, went down the stairs, and into the kitchen.

"Mom! I'm going out with Ma-" I stopped myself as I looked up from my phone

There was Carson, Matt, two of their friends, Oliver, Justin, Luke, and Wes.

"Nice hair, how was New York? You haven't posted on social media at all this summer, you just kind of fell off the Earth." Justin commented

"How have you been?" Oliver asked me concerned

I shrugged, "I mean I-I danced twelve hours a day for six days a week, there wasn't time. I'm jetlagged. I'm gonna go, what time are you guys leaving?"

"Five, it's a school night." Luke reminded me

"You look skinny." Oliver pointed out

I felt so uncomfortable.

"Yeah like I said, ballet twelve hours a day for five or six days a week. I did an array of diets vegan, raw, healthy, it was great. Look at my flat stomach and waist while you can now because by the time homecoming gets here it won't be here and neither will I." I went on

"Actually you're on the royal court, so try again," Oliver informed me

I shrugged, "And?"

"You kind of have to do it since you were nominated." Oliver clarified
