I woke up at seven in the morning, on April twenty-second, Weston's birthday. Every birthday we've spent together, I've made him breakfast.
Weston was adorable when he slept, all these years together and it still made my heart race. I moved his arms from around me as I quietly climbed out of bed.
After I slipped on my slippers, I headed downstairs in our quiet home to our kitchen. I ran to my garage and got the array of balloons I got from the party store. I got him huge, silver '26' balloons, a football balloon, and a bunch of silver star balloons.
When I set everything up the way I wanted with all of the balloons and gifts, I started cooking.
I made heart shaped pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, and there was a side of fruit.
I began plating the breakfast as I looked up to see Weston.
"I swear every birthday I've had since we've been together is the best." Weston smiled
"Happy birthday, babe." I beamed as he gave me a kiss on the cheek
Weston glanced at all of the food, "This looks amazing, but these gifts are looking really good right now."
"No," I whined
"Not until after breakfast." I added
Weston nodded, "I'll fix us some apple juice."
Weston and I put the food, drinks, and silverware on our breakfast room table and we sat down to start eating breakfast.
"How does it feel to be twenty-six?" I asked him as we ate
"Old, especially since I'm still a little sore from weight training." He responded
I pushed my hair behind my ear, "Yeah I'm still jet-lagged from Cali. Anyway, tonight we're going to dinner tonight so you can open them all now or wait."
"I don't think I can wait, so we can open them now." Weston decided as I pushed my empty plate aside
"Good deal, I'll go get them." I said getting up
I grabbed the bags and the cards and then walked back into the breakfast area.
"What should I open first?" Weston asked me
I pointed to the bag that was full of clothes, football gear, and a picture of a trampoline.
"I'm so excited, I feel six. Where is it?" Weston asked about the trampoline
"In the garage, waiting for you to set it up." I laughed as I drank a sip of water
He chuckled, "Thanks, lovie."
I instructed him to open the pink clasp envelope that contained plain tickets to our tickets to Hawaii in August.
"Hawaii for a week, I'm so excited. You, me, the beach, what island?" Weston asked as opened his last present.
It was a card that read, 'I ♥ you'.
"Scratch the heart off with this penny." I instructed him as I handed him the coin
I stood and watched him scratch the envelope as I held a bag behind my back.
Weston stopped scratching and put the penny down.
He slowly turned his head to me.
"Are you serious?" He asked in disbelief
I nodded with a smile, "Yes."
He held up the card that didn't say what Island we were going to, but instead, read 'I'm pregnant'.
I took the tiny onesie out of the bag and held it up.
