I stared at the screen as Dr. Laney kept moving the scope around.
"So there's no defects, deformities, nothing, your baby looks perfect. Can you believe that your little one is hiccupping, moving, swallowing, and so much more?" She spoke
Weston rubbed my hand, "Yeah, we felt them kicking last night, it was pretty cool."
"Your baby is about five point six inches long and weighs about six point eight ounces. The heartbeat right now is about one hundred forty-nine. Ready to see what it is?" Dr. Laney smiled
I nodded, "So ready."
I watched the screen closely
"These are the legs and that is a butt." She pointed out
"Notice how there is nothing sticking up or a sixth finger as some call it, this is a baby girl. Congratulations. Looks like we have another Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader, huh?" Dr. Laney said taking pictures
I looked at Weston with the biggest smile on my face.
"She can do whatever she wants to do." I answered
Weston kissed me, "She's beautiful."
"Do you have a name picked out?" She asked as she wiped my stomach
I nodded, "Grier."
"Thank God, because we wouldn't have picked a boy name until the due date." Weston joked as I sat up
We got our pictures, set up our next appointment, and then we got into Weston's car and headed to the mall.
"Hey mom, is Dad around?" I asked as I was on the phone with her
"Yeah, so are the twins and Gabe, we're in the car. We're going to grab some brunch, what's up?" She asked me
I put the phone on speaker, "We just left the doctor's, we're driving to the mall now."
"Oh my gosh, tell me if it's a girl or boy!" My mom exclaimed
"Tell us." My dad corrected
Weston came to a stop light, "Can I?"
I nodded.
"I bet it's twins." Jane's voice echoed
"It's a little girl, her name is Grier. There's only one, no twins. Shoutout to you, Grayson." Weston spoke
I smiled, I think every day I fell a little more in love with this man.
"That's adorable, what's her middle name?" My Dad asked
"Olivia." I answered his question
My mom made an 'aww' sound, "Grier Olivia Johnson, how cute! You guys should come over for dinner, we can call up Blake and Amanda too. Oh! Lennox, the twins offered to work the boutique with Lucy while you're in Hawaii and on maternity leave."
"Good, good, we'll see you guys for dinner. I love y'all." I said ending the call
"This is all getting really real. We have to find a pediatrician, we have to get furniture, clothes, diapers, bottles, all of that." I rambled
"We got this, we have some pretty good people in our corner who probably will always help us no matter what. Plus Grier has the best mom on the damn planet." Weston comforted me as we drove
Our original purpose was to get things for our vacation, but the fact that I could now shop at the cute clothing boutiques changed the game.
"Oh my gosh, she needs this." I said pointing to the three piece set.
