Chapter 18. exes can be friends and vice versa

a week later, Radhika started to get more attached to Rajah. Yes they may have broken up, and yes they may not see each other as often as they used to with Radhika working on her career and Rajah continuing his studies. However when the weekend comes along even when Radhika is working in the studio, Rajah is in there too helping her out when she needs it. One day Smithson came in the room where Radhika and Rajah were hanging out while She was working on some songs.

"if i didn't know any better you two are close to being lover" smithson joked.

"been there..." Rajah said

"done that" radhika finished her sentence

All of them laughed then continued talking about business. Smithson wanted to here the progress on Radhika's first album.

"we are releasing it on new years eve you see" smithson stated "the album needs to have about 10 songs minimum"

Radhika gave her demo cd to smithson and told him to listen to it. Smithson placed the demo into his computer and played the demo. the demo had already 10 songs in it. Smithson was pleased and recommended Radhika to make some bonus records if she could before new years eve which is almost a month away. Radhika agreed and shook Smithson's hand before he left. Radhika's expression then went from excited to nervous. She had severe writers block when she had to work under pressure. Rajah knew what was happening when he saw Radhika plump back on the bean bag chair.

"i think we should call it a day" Rajah said "its only the weekend after all"

"but smithson said...." Radhika started

"you have a month to work on the songs" rajah interrupted "plenty of time. now its the weekend live a little"

Radhika agreed so the both of them left the studio and went to the mall near the hotel. They then spent the day window shopping, eating, and playing in the arcades. Throughout the time rajah made it his duty to make radhika stress free. However radhika's mind seemed to be elsewhere. They then stopped for a light snack in a bakery shop the sat down and started to eat.

"you do know he just recommended." Rajah spoke "does not mean you have to do it. And if you decide to do it you can just make one song"

Radhika smiled and realized her mind was over stressing over nothing. She already knew what she wants her bonus track to feature but there was no beat or rhythm for it. a little while longer her hears buzzed with a rhythmic sound from the garbage man opening and emptying the garbage before closing it. Then after he closed it the cashier made a dinging noise soon plates banging on the ground. It almost sounded like the scene from Tarzan when the apes raided the potters hideout. She then took rajah by the. Hand and ran towards the studio. She then played what rhythm and beat she thought of and started singing the song. In awe rajah listened until she finished singing. Radhika then asked for his opinion.

"i think you made the right decision of leaving school"responded rajah making radhika blush "i am not joking i mean look at what you did less than a day by just listeningg to everyday items making noise. You're gifted radhika."

"i agree with rajah" a familiar voice echoed

Radhika and rajah turned to where the voice was coming from to see it was none other than shiva. After the break up Radhika and rajah have never seen Shiva. This was the first sighting.

"what do you want" rajah said in anger

"forgiveness" shiva said turning to radhika "from her"

"you know it wont happen "radhika said "yet why do you ask"

"because I asked him to" shanaya said from the corner

shanaya then explained how after Radhika and Shiva broke up and Shiva lost everything and started begging on the streets. Shanaya one day saw shiva on the streets and decided to help him out recover his life. During the process, they both fell in love with one another. Then one thing led to another and they both got engaged. Rajah and radhika could not believe what they were hearing. They tried to reason with shanaya with facts about shiva in a relationship. Shanaya would not listen and called both Radhika and Rajah liars and told them she would rather see both of them suffer one day than be their friend before leaving with shiva hand in hand.

a couple hours after the incident Rajah dropped of Radhika to the hotel. Rajah saw Radhika's expression was not as hype as usual. Before Radhika could enter the hotel lobby rajah took a hold of her arm. Radhika looked at rajah who was facing the floor.

"i know just now was hard for you to handle" Rajah started "but just know I'm here for you as a friend, even though i was not at the start"

Radhika smiled and gave a peck on rajahs cheek before saying goodnight. she then went towards Suresh place. She knew that her life was and always will be filled with drama because without drama reality would never exist. Once she was at suresh place she saw a note on the kitchen counter. It was from suresh. the letter states that he would be out of town for a couple days and whatever she needed can be handled by Rajesh. Radhika then folded the letter up and went to her room. She knew that her days as an upcoming singer are much more than just dull.
