Chapter 19. the truth can set you free

A few days past by fast and it was finally a day before new years eve. Radhika was at the studio finishing up her bonus tracks. She finally made 3 bonus track that have been approved by Smithson.around lunch time, Rajah came over to the studio and brought lunch for two. it was a long holiday so he decided to surprise Radhika. Rajah accomplished his mission of surprising radhika. They then spent the day relaxing and gossiping. soon after they finished lunch, Smithson came along to take the bonus tracks to put into the final cut.

"if you guys keep being in the studio together people would think you're both dating." Smithson joked

Radhika and Rajah both laughed before getting back to business. Radhika handed her usb that contained her bonus tracks to Smithson. he then uploaded the cd to his computer before handing it back to Radhika.

"there will be a new years eve party for the CD release and you are invited naturally" Smithson explained "You can invite anyone you want," looking at Rajah "and your invited to" Smithson said in a teasing way

Radhika and Rajah laughed as smithson left the studio. Radhika and Rajah decided to go on a drive around the city for old times. During the drive, Radhika was thinking of what to do about who she should invite. she was still unsure about how she felt about her grandfather. There was so much more she wanted to know about a side of her family she never knew.

"you're still thinking of who to invite aren't you" shiva said while driving distracting Radhika from her daydream

"well a little."Radhika explained "of course I'm inviting you, but..."

"you are thinking if its the right time to invite your long lost grandfather" Rajah finished radhika's thoughts

"how long are you going to show off that you know me so well" radhika joked
"as long as you allow me to be your friend" Rajah replied

They both laughed as the Rajah parked near a cafe that looked very familiar. it was the same cafe where radhika and Rajah went while they were going out item. They went inside and ordered some snacks. While waiting for their order they talked about what they both should wear for the party, who else should radhika invite to the party, and theories behind who suresh really is. Soon enough their order came and they started to eat. After they finished eating, they both split the bill and drove towards the hotel.

They soon reached the hotel and both got out of the car. Radhika was still thinking of who her grandfather was and rajah could tell. he took Radhika by her hands and looked her dead in the eyes.

"you may go up there and ask him something that you wanted to know thoroughly" Rajah started "his answer may be what you hoped for maybe not. But no matter what you will never be alone"

Rash then hugged radhika goodbye before leaving with his car. Radhika smiled before going into the hotel. Entering the lift she felt a little nervous as to what secrets she has not found out about her mothers side of the family. she reached the floor of Suresh suite and walked up to his door. She was about to open the door when she heard suresh and rajesh fighting in the room. she did not dare enter the room so she eavesdropped on the conversation.

"you shouldn't have said anything to her"suresh yelled

"what was i supposed to do" Rajesh said "she kept on asking about her mother"

"you should have just talked about her mother and not bring me in the subject" Suresh explained

"do you think i don't know that" Rajesh said "its eating me up inside that I'm lying not only to manimegle but now i must do the same for Radhika"

"my reputation is in this mess brother" suresh said "you knew what you wanted when you decided to not take responsibility of your mistake"

"my mistake was my gambling addiction, I admit that" Rajesh said "but I never asked for your help"

"i helped you because if our mother knew you had a child from a person out our faith she would have killed you." Suresh stated "Manimegle became my daughter and lost any contact with you ever since"

"you bartered with me brother" Rajesh said "you did not only take my life, but you also took my assets from father as well my daughter. if radhika knew who you really are..."

"she would know i was innocent" Suresh said "i have my ways to make me look innocent"

"but you aren't" Rajesh said "if you were a true brother of mine, you would have saved me from my problem instead of used it against me."

With that Rajesh stormed towards the entrance opening the door revealing a startled radhika. Suresh was shocked and moved out of the way. Radhika slowly walked towards Suresh Suresh was about to yell profanity when he realized Radhika was standing in the room. Tears started to stream down her eyes as she stormed towards her room. She locked her door and started to cry. she could not believe it. Her so call grandpa was only her granduncle. her real grandfather was her day to day driver. her world felt topsy turvy again. all she could think of was the fact she only had one person she could trust with her life. she calmed herself as much as possible before calling up Rajah.

Rajah answered the phone call. All Radhika could do was cry. Rajah knew there was some problem and said he was on his way. Radhika packed her bags and escaped from the front door. Suresh and Rajesh were in Suresh room arguing. she then waited for a few minutes and soon enough rajah was there. She put her bags in the car and got in. he then drove them to his place. Radhika was still tearing up the whole time.

They soon reached rajahs place. Rajah took radhika's bags to the guest room. Radhika sat on the couch as placed her head on her hands crying her eyes out stressed beyond her strengths to cope with it alone. Rajah soon walked towards the kitchen to grab 2 bottles of water before sitting next to radhika. Once he sat next to her, he placed his hand on her shoulder which made her turn towards Rajah for a hug. he soon hugs her back and tries to soothe her. after her eyes went dry and she drank some water, radhika started to explain to rajah what happened and the reason behind her tears.

"stay here for the night" rajah suggested "we will decide what to do tomorrow"

"what about the party" radhika asked

"the party starts around 9pm" Rajah replied "we have the whole day"

Radhika agreed and left to the guest room for the night she knew that she would have to make a huge decision before the new year arrives.
