Chapter 20. new year new me?

It was finally the day of the launch party. Everything Radhika ever dreamt of is determined by how successful this day turns out to be. Radhika woke up with mixed feelings. She was excited and nervous about the launch party but she also felt betrayed and uncertain about what she found out about her so called family. Well one side of it anyway. She walked towards the kitchen and saw breakfast ready on the table. She sat down and saw that there was a note left. It was from rajah

it read "hey superstar. Its finally the day when your official cd gets launched statewide which then will be nationwide and maybe even worldwide. Heres a super breakfast to start your day. I'm out for a jog now once I'm back you better be ready, because today. You. me. Beauty day. and I am not taking a no for an answer. Eat up rockstar and have a blessed morning. will see you soon"

Radhika smiled and started eating. While eating she thought of the last 6 months she endured after moving to a new town. Secrets from her moms past were slowly coming out. Secrets radhika never knew could have been there in the start. All she knew out of all the ups and downs she endured she was lucky to have rajah by her side.

after she finished eating she went and got ready. Right after she got ready rajah was back from his jog. He bought some flowers and chocolate for radhika during his jog. Radhika thanked him and told him to get ready. While Rajah got ready, Radhika poured water into a vase and placed the flowers in it and placed the chocolates in the fridgee so it wont melt.

Once rajah was all set, they both left to pamper themselves for the night of Radhikas dreams. They first started of in a saloon where they did their hair. Then went to a beauty parlor for Radhika. Rajah tagged along to be her assistant with her phone and bags. While Radhika was getting her nails done, her phone started buzzing like crazy. There were multiple text from multiple people. First was from Smithson giving the details for the party and that she can use the companies card to buy her a dress for the night if she needed. The second text was from Suresh asking where she is. The third was from rajesh wishing Radhika all the best for the night and he needed to explain about the incidentt last night. Radhika did not know how to answer the two guys she thought she could trust so she told rajah to text a humble gratitude to smithson and do as he likes for the rest because she was not ready to face them yet. Rajah obliged.

Once all the beauty part has been done Radhika and Rajah decided to go shopping for outfit for the event. They decided to go to the mall. Outside the mall they bump into Rajesh. he was glad that Radhika was safe and that she was okay. thats all he cared about. He was about to walk to the hotel when suddenly

"do you want coffee" radhika shouted making Rajesh turn around and smile

"i thought you'd never as" Rajesh responded allowing radhika and rajah to walk ahead. They stopped over at the donut shop where radhika, rajah, and Rajesh ate donuts and drank coffee.

"hows suresh" radhika asked

"he's okay" Rajesh said "worried about you though"

"i thought you promised to tell me the truth at all times"radhika said looking down at her coffee mug

"i wanted to so badly" Rajesh said "but suresh kept blackmailing about my horrid past"

"the gambling addiction?" Radhika questioned

"how much of the conversation did you hear" Rajesh asked

"enough to know you are my grandfather" radhika replied

Soon after silence filled their table. Rajah looked at the clock and nudged radhika she then saw the clock. They only had 5 hours to get the dress and get ready for the party. They bid farewell to Rajesh before they left.
