A lovely end to an awful day

You sighed heavily to yourself as you walked home from another horrible day at work. As if dealing with rude customers all day hadn't been irritating enough, now you had to walk home in the gusty wind and torrential downpour. The only upside you could currently think of to all of this was that you were at least getting home to your loving boyfriend and your cats, but even that thought couldn't quite stop your scowlling after the day you'd had.

Soon enough you were home, and as soon as you entered the house Q was already welcoming you with a smile.

"Hey, Y/N!" He greeted you as you took off your soaking wet coat and shoes.

You looked up at him and managed a faint smile back, "Hey."

"So, uh, how was work today?" He asked, even though he already knew exactly how it had been from the look on your face and the tone of your voice.

You shrugged your shoulders, "It was alright, I guess," You mumbled as you went to walk past him. Of course, it had been far from "alright" but you didn't want to go into a lot of detail about it as you'd much rather just forget about it and try to relax.

"Uh, (Y/N)?" He said.

You turned to face him, "Yeah?"

"Before you go in the living room I need you to go upstairs to the bathroom."

"What? Why?" You asked, giving him a confused look and wondering if it was some kind of prank or if he'd broken something.

"Just trust me," He responded, "It'll definitely cheer you up!"

You decided to just go up and see what he'd done instead of questioning him. Even if it was a prank, you doubted it would be something that bad (especially after he'd seen the mood you were in!)

Upon entering the bathroom, your instantly smiled when you saw that he'd prepared a hot bath for you! He had also placed your favourite pyjamas on the radiator, which made you smile even more.

You sighed happily as you lay in the warm bath, all of your anger from the day's events quickly being replaced with even more love for Q. Any time you didn't think it was possible to fall even more in love with him, he always found a way to prove you wrong!

After you had relaxed in the bath for a short while and put on your comfortable pyjamas, you headed downstairs and gave Q a tight yet soft hug.

"Thank you!" You smiled, also giving him a quick peck on the lips, "I love you!"

"I love you too, (Y/N)." Q replied, pulling you onto his lap. The two of you snuggled closely together and spent the rest of the evening watching your favourite TV shows together. At one point you even fell asleep in his strong yet comforting arms.

Even though most of your day had been terrible, you were incredibly grateful that you could come home to somebody who loved you more than anything and who you knew would always be able to cheer you up no matter what.
