"Sure, I'd love to go roller skating with you! It sounds like fun!"

Your cheerful words from earlier that morning replayed in your mind as you clung to the side on the rink, refusing to let go as you watched your friends skate around. Any time you had tried to join in with them you'd nearly fallen over, so you decided to just watch them have all the fun instead!

From the other side of the rink you could see your boyfriend Brian waving for you to come over to him. You grinned nervously at him, trying to build up the courage to completely let go of the side and skate over to him.

After a moment of hesitation, you decided to just go for it and began to move towards him. Slowly but surely, you edged away from the side of the rink... and as soon as you let go you completely toppled over.

You yelped as you hit the wooden floor, landing straight on your arse. You knew that everybody in the rink had seen it happen and you could hear their laughter. It was slightly difficult with the roller skates on, but you managed to scramble to your feet and shuffle out of the rink, your cheeks red with embarrassment.

There were a few seats right by where you'd shuffled out, so you plopped down on one of them and buried your face in your hands for a moment. You weren't crying; you were just feeling completely self-concious over what had just happened and felt like hiding away from everyone!

"You okay?" A familiar voice suddenly piped up from next to you as you felt somebody sit down beside you. You didn't even have to look to know that it was Q, and you simply nodded slowly in response.

"I'm fine, just a bit embarrassed!" You replied, giggling awkwardly, "I just can't believe I fell on my ass in front of EVERYBODY!" You hid your face again for a second, knowing that your cheeks were still rosy pink.

"Don't worry about it, (Y/N), people probably fall over in this place all the time!" Q responded,  "Hell, I nearly did when I was coming over here to talk to you! It's no big deal, trust me."

You smiled warmly at him, already feeling better. The two of you locked eyes for a moment and shared a quick kiss. It did only last for a moment, but it instantly made you forget your embarrassment (well, for a few seconds at least) and smile even more. You'd always loved the fact that he always knew how to make you feel better; no matter what had happened, he always found a way to make you smile through it!

"So, you wanna try skating again in a sec? Don't worry, this time I'll make sure you don't fall over."

You gulped nervously, "Umm..."

"Pleeeease?" Q pleaded with puppy-dog eyes that you just couldn't say no to.

You jokingly rolled your eyes, "Alright, fine!" You replied, standing up with him (and almost toppling right back over!)

The two of you re-entered the rink and you tightly held his hand as you began to slowly skate around the edge together. For pretty much the entire rest of the afternoon you skated around together, slowly building up the courage to go faster and not constantly hold his hand.

When it was time to leave you were all slightly exhausted but cheerful. The rink wasn't far from the apartment you and Q shared so the two of you invited the other guys over for lunch. The rest of the afternoon (and a large chunk of the evening) were spent eating and watching movies, and you wouldn't have had it any other way.

You loved having such an amazing group of friends and especially loved having an amazing boyfriend who could always cheer you up no matter what!
