It sucks. I had no time to digitalize it, so it's colored pencil.
It took so long because I kept taking breaks because I was afraid I'd ruin it, which I did.
So here's some closer ups and explanations.

When Fern was smol he was out walking in the rainforest and I giant tree fell on him, breaking both his front legs. As he grew, they didn't, even after they were healed.

Fern's best friend Parrot saw that Fern was becoming more and more unhappy at not being able to walk, so he carved some wooden stilts so he could.
Ok so I tried to use colors to show moods like Rainwings actually do, and I think I failed.
So the light green in the first panel is fear, the white in the second is pain, and on the wings of fire wiki it says that confusion is "purplish orange" I don't know what that is so I tried. And blue/gray is sadness, yellow is excitement, and I tried to make curious by mixing yellow (excitement) and green (worried) and there's still blue because he's still a little sad. And pink is happiness.
Fern's preferred colors are red and gold and Parrot's are orange.
I made the pink crawling up their scales in different ways because I bet that different Rainwings have it in different ways. Like one could have happiness showing like a bucket of paint dumped on them and another could have it start at the tail and work it's way up. I don't know, just a concept I thought of.
I also tried to do symbolism with the lighting, like the tree is falling and creating a shadow. Then everything is dark, but Parrot brought back the light.
