And I've finally figured out how to draw Hivewings! Well my way at least.
I even made two ocs.
Bristletail
And Mantis. I know there's already a Mantis in canon, but I really liked the name, and there's only so many bugs, I'm sure there are repeats.
One way I learned how to draw the wings of fire tribes (and I'm using to learn how to draw these new tribes) was to design hybrids. It made me have to memorize certain features, instead of trying to memorize the whole thing. So then my mind was able to learn that Seawings have this kind of scale while Skywings have this one, so then I could think about how to combine them to make a hybrid.
So here's a Silkwing/Hivewing hybrid and a Hivewing/Silkwing hybrid (yeah there's a difference, I don't want to explain it right now)
They're kind of bad because it's my first time trying, but I'd be willing to give them away as adoptables or something if anyone's interested. If you are just comment and first come first serve I guess. Just so I can seem like I'm doing something.
I also drew a weird thought I had.
What if Hivewings had mandibles?
It's kind of bad because it's a three second sketch, but it's a cool thought. If only I could draw mandibles 😅
I drew this a bit after this idea.
My own design of Hivewings?? Idk I was bored.
Here's some wings of fire anti same face syndrome drawings. I think I'm finally getting rid of it a little bit.
Position practice. I can never get the back legs to look right 😢 How do you draw them!?!
I had my sister pick random numbers to generate the wings of fire tribe to go with a Pantella tribe to make some hybrids (Because I just love designing them) and I got Hive/Night, Silk/Rain, and Leaf/Mud, which is hilarious because I feel like those hybrids would be most likely to happen if we're considering where they live and their ancestry and stuff.
So I have 3 more hybrid ocs now.
I need to stop.
